Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - Cmo - 08-11-2009 1. Your age, gender, and time played: 23, Male, 169 Days Played, 9 Days at 80 2. List any alts and off specs you have gear for AND CAN PLAY COMPETENTLY (your main should be able to respec and play any spec on the fly): Nothing LVL 80. A 70 Hunter I'll get around to leveling one of these days. 3. Armory links (mandatory): http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... Cmoforever 4. Any WWS or WMO links or other clear indication of your performance in a raid (recommended): All my previous WWS links were posted on a Forum that is no longer up, and I have since lost any way to find them. 5. We are a raiding guild and are usually in the top 100 guilds in the US; it is expected you have raiding experience and know ALL encounters and hard modes currently in game! In your opinion, what is the most difficult boss encounter you have ever defeated and why?: Hydross back in the day as a tank. The reason I would say that, is normally tanking is pretty static, and the same sort of routine. I always enjoyed doing that fight because it required a good amount of execution on the part of both tanks. It's a nice change of pace to sitting in a corner with a monsters crotch in your face you know? If were talking pure difficulty and not execution check, probably Tidewalker was the hardest encounter I defeated. Vashj or Kael would be the choice here, but honestly I never beat either of them. Tidewalker from my perspective at the time was difficult because we didn't have excellently geared healers at the time, and it was pretty common for me to die via a sudden bad luck of numbers. It was harder because it took bringing every possible consumable for me to be able to survive it at the time. 6. Previous guilds/servers and reason for leaving, also include any references we may contact: Previously in Virtue back in January. Had some personal differences and left at the time. Also my computer at the time fried from an electrical surge, I have recently rebuilt a new one and reactivated my account. I don't think there are any truly hard feelings there, it was just some differences. Curves Slyc Crushonator 7. It is assumed you will be available from 8-12 ST (Server Time is EST) Sunday through Thursday. If you can’t, please explain why you couldn't make our scheduled raid times (or why you even bothered applying): Was not completely sure upon the attendance requirements. I realize you raid 5 nights a week, but was unaware if there were members who were around 3-4 times, or did subbing, things of that nature. Even if I couldn't raid I'ld just like to hang out I think. 8. Explain what specifically puts you at the top? We raid to be at the top and expet it of all our members. Do you take pride in topping meters, never letting the tank die, never pulling aggro, etc.? What separates you from the rest? Be specific, this will be a major indicator of the kind of player you are: I like to think I'm in the top sort of raider, not because of my current gear (clearly), but because I always put in the effort and time necessary to do an encounter or to learn something new. If I don't know something I'll probably be researching it on my Blackberry at work when I'm bored, or watching videos, or whatever it takes to grasp and understand something. Once I've learned an encounter, and I understand it, I very rarely make mistakes once I understand it, and I like to think I'm good at execution after the learning process. No matter which role I've done in the past(Tanking in the Past, DPS Currently), I've always tried to be the best I could be at the time given gear and party constraints. I like to bring things that help out the entire raid (Recently finished building a Jeeves robot as an example). I've got a very good attitude about raiding, and the mental perspective you bring to this game is probably more important than anything else. Gear can be gotten, competance and effort you have to bring yourself. As an example of dedication to bringing the best, I will do something like Grind Hodir rep to exalted just so I could get the better shoulder enchants. 9. Post a screen shot of your UI (Thumbnail Please) or a comprehensive list of mods that you use for raiding. ARE YOU A CLICKER? http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/ ... 013612.jpg I used to be a much more prolific clicker. Things have gotten much better over the years of playing WoW (3). I won't say I never Click, but I have keybound all the important things for DPS , and generally I'ld say I'm at around 80% non-clicking these days. 10. If you have thoroughly answered the following questions and you are confident you are what we are looking for, you have a good chance of being trialed, but we'd like to know why you want to join us? What made you choose us over the other guilds out there? Could Make Sunday-Tuesday. I would be happy to be a "friend" and hang out with the people in this guild. When I got to the front page of this website I just sat and laughed my ass off for 5 minutes, and decided I needed to app no matter if it meant raiding or not. Simply because I'm sure the Guild Chat is fantastic. Also was not completely positive if 5 nights a week was the norm, or if some people were around the 3-4 night mark. Again if not, perfectly happy Instancing and hanging out casualy. Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - lawlerbation the hardcore squatter - 08-11-2009 learn to make a not crappy ui Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - Cmo - 08-11-2009 Been using a configuration close to this for awhile now. Always worked. Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - Firecrest - 08-11-2009 I don't know much about Fury Wars, but I do know we're not a guild that's in the business of recruiting Blues. You are really really really undergeared. Not only that, but you've never even done 25 man Naxx or any version of Ulduar. If you truly don't mind being a Friend Rank, then message any officer. Perhaps you could get some more experience and gear in our PUG/Alt/Friends runs and apply again, but I'm affraid that a raiding spot just isn't in the cards at the moment. However, you may want to consider wether or not we're the guild for you at all. We are top 300 in the world and expect much from our raiders. We do expect 5 nights and we do push very hard. The comment below makes me wonder if you have the kind of dedication we require: Quote:As an example of dedication to bringing the best, I will do something like Grind Hodir rep to exalted justGetting the best so you can be the best is not "over and above" around here. It's expected. Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - geng - 08-11-2009 lol im not exalted with sons of hodir. Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - Firecrest - 08-11-2009 That's cause you're an Inscriptionist. Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - Cmo - 08-11-2009 Yeah again, I have no issue with the friend status. I know my Gear isn't anywhere near where it would need to be. My only real intention was just that, PuG runs. I didn't truly expect any sort of raiding spot, does not hurt my feelings. Maybe I mispoke that it was "above and beyond" more that I understand the expectations of raiding, including acquiring the best available Enchants. You can buy your way through SoH Exalted for about 1000 gold. I did mine with about a week's worth of dailys and 400 gold. It was really rough, I tell you. Re: Cmoforever, LVL 80 Warrior (Fury) - Hitshade - 08-14-2009 Firecrest Wrote:You can buy your way through SoH Exalted for about 1000 gold. There are so many ways to make gold and buy the relics, there is no fucking excuse for not being exalted at this point. |
