Quote:With t10 we're going to see a hybrid. The tier 10 items (the ones with item levels you'd find in the 10-player raid) will be purchased with Emblems of Frost.
The tier 10.5 items (the ones with item levels you'd find in the 25-player raid) will be obtained by getting a token (one that is specific to 3 or 4 classes, much like the ulduar tokens) and using it to upgrade the tier 10 item that was purchased with emblems of frost.

Interesting. Seems like an added incentive to run 10m content regularly... or at least initially.
I wonder why they decided to go that route.

Not necessarily, they only said the item level of the pieces are equivalent with the 10 man loot. Not that you actually had to run 10 man to get the loot.
Re: t10 info - CAN - 10-22-2009
it sounds basically the same as it is now, except you cant run the same instance 4x a week
Re: t10 info - geng - 10-22-2009
i hope that enchants and gems will translate over to the upgrade, but i doubt it.

Having to purchase the initial t10 with badges, then upgrading that gear to 10.5 by using tokens is what Im seeing. So unless its just poorly worded, you have to spend badges AND tokens if you want 10.5. You cant just get a token and get your tier.
Yes, the item level of t10 will be equivalent to 10m gear, but you already have to have the t10 gear in order to make use of a t10.5 token. At least that's how it reads. So the point is, if you want t10/10.5 fast... you're going to want to run 10m content.
