@Ethax - Car Buying - Lorake - 06-07-2010 So I'm buying a car in a week or two. Prefer sports car. You still think I should go S2000? I'm not a huge fan now, not because of the car, but because of the shit ass roads I drive on. Otherwise what car should I get? I have a buddy that works at a Nissan dealer who could probably hook me up with a good deal at his work on a Z, but I saw a Camaro SS listed near where I lived for under 30k. Suggestions? Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Archlight - 06-08-2010 Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Ethax - 06-08-2010 I don't know about your price range but I wouldn't go with anything Chevrolet, they are pieces of shit. Z's , S2000's are nice for roadsters, or you can go with somethin glike a Lexus I, Infiniti G, Nissan Maxima etc. if you want something with some balls that is also very "luxurious." In short, if you are gonna buy anything American make it ford, whatever you do don't buy a Chrysler, and Obama motors are also pieces of shit. PS Don't buy a BMW 3 series. Cheap pieces of shit trying to cater to someone on a beer budget that wants to make everyone think they have money. Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Lorake - 06-08-2010 Budget's around 30k give or take. I'll take a look at some of the suggestions you made tonight. Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Ankletank - 06-08-2010 Buy an 03-04' Kenne Bell cobra. Puts a Z, S200, G, and many others to shame absolutely stock. They aren't as pricy as some of your other options, and can run low 11's high 10's with bolt ons. Or if you want a real fun car, and don't mind building - an old Datsun 280z with an LQ4 6.0 motor is one of my favorite cars... and damn fast, too. Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Ethax - 06-08-2010 Pretty sure he was talking about something a little more practical, like a daily driver. If not just go buy a Porsche 911 GT3 or a new AMG Benz..... MUSTANGS,CAMAROS, AND CORVETTES ARE FOR FUCKING HILLBILLIES DON'T FORGET IT. JUST BECAUSE YOUR CAR IS LOUD DOESNT MEAN ITS FAST. Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Ankletank - 06-08-2010 A mustang is a bit more practical than an s2000, in my opinion. 4 seats vs 2. Happy medium. Buy an m3. Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Lorake - 06-08-2010 Yeah I want a daily driver, so like the super awesome powerful sports car isn't really what I'm terribly interested in. Anything that requires personal effort to build or tinker or upgrade for awesomeness is not really what I want. I'm not deluded with fantastical goals of being some kind of street racer, but I do admit I do enjoy driving behind the wheel of some vehicles like a Z. I'm not looking for super practicality, but I'm looking for a mix of sport and standard. If I'm having to build shit or say goodbye to certain comforts like an A/C for speed, fuck it, not worth it. Re: @Ethax - Car Buying - Ankletank - 06-08-2010 Are you a mechanic, Ethax? Sounds like your best bets are an Audi A5, 350z, or a G35/37s IMO. Out of those 3, The G37s is probably the most comfortable if you can even find a used one. My "weekend" car is a really impractical everything-but-speed stripped piece of art. But I really enjoy my daily, which is a Pontiac grand prix GTP. Comfort and the supercharged engine makes it sporty enough for day to day. I'll tell you though, if you can get one for around 30, the CTS-V's (07's I've seen around here for about 20-25k) are absolutely awesome. Every luxury you could ask for and very responsive on the throttle while not being so bad on gas. |
