lol srsly tho, this thread is 10/10 entertainment. Now I'm an arcane mage, but FB/FFB as an "offspec"??? wtf is that? I see top5 WWS records on patch have an arcane mage on top only because the fire mage keeps up a 5 stack... not to mention the fact that the arcane gets tricks of the trade halfway through... all that and the fire mage is averaging ~50dps lower on a 7K+ dps fight? if thats an offspec, sign me up.
btw SP is never valued lower than haste or crit in any situation, and haste for arcane isn't as black and white with glyph choices.

1.) Look at the thread date.
2.) FFB is an offspec gear-wise because the optimal gear-set is very very different.
3.) FB isn't an offspec gear-wise to arcane except that people generally swap in dying curse for fireball.
4.) Nobody ever said SP was less than crit or haste. Anyone who even thinks of that deserves to get their Character deleted.
5.) If someone says Haste is better than crit they are generalizing. You should prioritize haste gear over crit gear as a general rule of thumb, but the true mastery of optimization is when you have all of your stats in perfect balance. http://elitistjerks.com/f75/t42476-opti ... iscussion/
By the way, the term off-spec is relative to the user. To a FFB mage arcane/FB would be the offspec. Offspec doesn't mean an inferior spec, simply a different one, and the fact that you don't understand even this simple fact caused all validity of anything you say to diminish.
If you're going to try to correct people, make sure that you're not the one who needs correcting first.

#2 again I say what??? wow, Gothik's Cowl vs. Val FF Cir is like less than 2 dps diff to each spec and 2nd or third in slot, dominated by the like 4dps in the Vanity "upgrade"... the list goes on and on.
#3 pure lawl - i'm 57/3/11 and wouldn't leave home without dying curse (best in trink2 slot)... like to have illustration with it, but I make do.
#4 /agree (but you'd be suprised... or maybe not if you get a lot of apps like this :roll: )
#5 blah blah blah, I know, perfect balance comes right after the cure for cancer and saving the rainforest... the reality is that things like latency to the server cluser and macro-keyed versus clicksters make far bigger differences than 50 crit or haste.
Look i'm not trying to hate here, god knows i dont envy you weeding through shit like this, but we both know theorycrafting isn't factcrafting for a reason.
P.S. that being said, suck up the offspec comment. That was just plain wrong and you make it worse with the "By the way, the term off-spec is relative to the user" comment... LOL try using that one in a raid when lewt is going to main-spec versus offspec, i'm sure the RL would love to hear your comments on it being up to the user.

You validated every point I made with that post.
Dying Curse is only best in slot for Arcane if you're stacking Spirit/Haste/SP gear, so it doesn't put you 3% OVER the hit cap, as it otherwise would. And to start you shouldn't be STACKING Haste/Spirit/SP anyways. And if you actually followed the link I provided for you you'd understand this simple fact. Theory-crafting is all about maximization, and dedicated raiders look to maximize their potential, and the mage who applied in this thread did not demonstrate that, which is why he was denied.
Also, after getting denied and being brought to the realization of how bad you actually are at your class, it was nice of you to make another forum name to try and flame this thread up.
Edit: Mathdragon, replace the yellow gems with SP/Haste, and gem your boots.
