It would take 222 minutes for Kipp Town Train to get to Ghost Town and 260 minutes for Ghost to reach Kipp. Seeing that Kipp is traveling 1.16 times faster than Ghost I would estimate they would meet about 168 miles away from Kippville and 92 miles away from ghosttown right in the middle of crazydillage. I'm probably wrong though but thats my legit math at work.
Quote:@Abe Why are you so clueless?
I think the biggest difference between myself and people that think they have a clue is that I actually know the amount of information I do not know is tremendous which is one of the reasons I know a lot about some of the topics I have interest in, aka I ask questions instead of just taking something at face value.
Riinuka Wrote:Are you really that worried when people say you're too negative? Yes, I dont care what people think about me, but I do care when people are upset and I hate fucking bad air floating around. I do not feel I am a negative person, I just simply am used to seeing all of the bad shit and having to deal with it because I'm the only one that either knows how or wants to.

Also, I think getting killed is the best option of the three o_O. As far as for someone who I don't know, anyway. Even better since it didn't specify it had to be intentional. Yeah, I feel that I'm just passionate as well, and in fact I sent a huge email to my director indicating that the other day before I spewed about how bad some parts of the company were and could be improved upon.
Krynnth, if there was an option to cherish someone I would've picked that for you.

If:
Each train leaves their respective towns at their constant traveling speed
AND both trains leave at exactly the same time
AND the track between both towns is a single unbroken line
Total distance D = 260
speed Train A Sa = 70
speed Train B Sb = 60
Time T
Trains pass each other when total distance to span = sum of distanced travelled (since AC = AB + BC for any point B that resides on AC (although I cannot remember the name of this rule))
D = Sa*T + Sb*T
260 = 70T + 60T
260 = T(70 + 60)
260 / (70 + 60) = T
T = 2
Trains meet at two hours into their trip.
Kipptrain is Sa*T = 70*2 = 140 miles from kipptown
Ghosttrain is Sb*T = 60*2 = 120 miles from ghosttown
As double-checking, 140 + 120 = 260 miles distance total travelled.
Generic formula D = Sx*T + Sy*T solves this problem. Also works with fighter jets colliding head-on.

NO YOU ARE WRONG. IT IS OBVIOUSLY 4%.
But Abe math amuses me greatly to watch in practice.
Re: Ask me anything - abecx - 05-26-2011
I wrote a perl script to verify the correct math and it worked. Oh well, at least I can logically code it if I cant math think it in my head.
