Yes, the pounce is based on spec, an class that can be range ( healers included ) has to be ranged, only melee classes are allowed to stay melee range.

Makes sense. I would still like to have a 6th Healer not soaking Orbs that can continue to operate with the 100% increase buff. They will just have to stand outside of melee but not near an Orb.
