I know my reply here comes a day late and a dollar short, but I've been pretty active with this situation moreso on facebook since I found out 3 days ago. Been talking to Cahn's sister Erika a lot in messages.
I'm still at a loss. We all know I was the ass end of Cahn's quick wit on more than enough occasions, but I'd take the punches and roll with them. He always used to help me in the wee hours of the morning. I had stayed up so late doing rbgs and didn't want to go to bed yet, so around 7am I'd get on mumble after a few pst's in WoW or D3 from him, and he'd run me through dungeons in D3, even gave me all of his barbarians gear because I was having a hard time trying to beat inferno. I felt like I always saw this side of him he never showed much. When it was just him and me, he'd be real and not so stand offish. He actually seemed like a normal human being during these times. Every other time he was just asshole Cahn, but always made me laugh.
One key memory I have of him was when we got Immortal. He was standing right next to me tanking all those huge bugs and I was mid-heal when a ring spawned below my toon, and I moved as soon as the heal was done, but apparently he was watching me the whole time since I was right next to him, and after just a few seconds more we got the achievement and he whispered me, "I was about to fucking scream at you if you hadn't moved. I was pretty sure we were gonna lose it when I saw you standing there." Never had much faith in me; or maybe it was because that was like our 12th week trying for it and it was just expected we'd fail with 5 seconds left. I'm not sure.
He told me once that if he ever visited his sister, who just so happens to be within a 15 minute drive of me, that we could hang out. Guess I shoulda pushed that issue. I would always joke with him, telling him I wanted his address so I could visit him. I think one time he actually gave it to me. Another chance lost. I can't believe how much I begged him for a picture over the years. I can't believe it took this to finally get it out.
Most of all...I'm pretty sure if Cahn were still here...he'd be making fun of himself and calling himself an idiot for what he did. He used to call me an emo fuck like most of the other sassy cats in this guild for the music I listen to. Kind of ironic.
In the end, Cahn made the big mistake of his life. Didn't whisper for a brez and released.
I'll miss him more than I can put into words. :-(

cahn was always a solid player and good guy. was pretty bummed upon realizing this wasn't an epic troll
miss all you guys since you server transferred in the two years or so since i was gone. take care all. good to see so many of you still around
