I will always remember the video of us killing archimonde....and cahns dwarf being shirtless....will always remember how many times I watched that intro and laughed my fucking ass off.

Where to begin…
I have had a lot of friends come and go in my life; I have even had others take their own lives. Very few of them I think would have the effect on me like Chris’s death has. Some people look back on their high school football days, or their frat days as the glory days in their lives. I look back at my days gaming with Chris and others in our close knit group. We had by definition, a family. There will be many people that miss him as much as I do, because he mattered to us. He wasn’t just a character in a game, or a casual passerby; he was our friend. For the past 9 years I have spent nearly every day communicating with Chris, I don’t regret any of it. (Even when he trolled me). I have been through a lot of life changes during this 9 years and he was there. The only separation between us being a broadband cable.
This hits me as a shock as, I always envisioned sending the guy I have gamed with for the past 9 years an invitation to my wedding, or visiting him in person while I see my first ocean. Now I have to move on with one of my only life regrets being that I never met him in person, and got the chance to buy him a drink. Chris was one of those people who you were just expecting that one day they would find their niche, and would become a huge success story. Chris/Cahn/Bojangles was one of the most naturally talented people I have ever gamed with. He was intelligent, gifted, and a great person to be friends with. He made the most difficult things look easy. It is weird to say that a 30 year old man like me wished I was as good as him, but I do.
Over the years he made me laugh, and I consider him to be one my best friends. I have never seen his picture until today, but he knew more about me than some of my family. I really wish that this wouldn’t have happened, and that I could have met him in person. I do not believe in god(s) or fate; but I do think that the world lost someone who was extremely talented, intelligent, and most of all…

Depression can be very complex and difficult for even the one suffering to describe exactly what is "wrong" and making them feel that way. It's hard to reach out to people for help, even those you're close to, as nobody wants to be seen as vulnerable or weak. After enough time it becomes so deeply rooted in how you self-identify that it takes over every aspect of your life.

You need to stop that right now. We spent every day with cahn and you understand how little he let us in his life. Yet you said yourself that his dad knew of us and that cahn had talked about us to his family. You were a good friend to him and like Sanderz said there was nothing any of us could have done. Please don't beat yourself up over this Zach

I had a voice mail today from a number in Mississippi. Wasn’t quite sure if it wasn’t another survey or random hang up call, but the message was one I had hoped beyond reason for. The call was from Matt who asked if I was Christopher Storbeck’s father, that they hadn’t heard from him in a few days and they were concerned.
I returned the call and after asking a few questions to see who Matt is, I shared that Chris had taken his own life Saturday night. Matt was shocked and I think not believing it for a second. We talked for quite a while as he started processing the unexpected news. Turns out Chris was known a Cahn to his cyber friends and that some of them had been friends with CJ for as long as 10 years, long enough that it is hard to remember when it all started. This on line family was getting together for quests or to BS for a long time and doing in almost on a daily basis.
I asked Matt to share the news with his friends, told him where my facebook page was and asked that we stay in contact. Since I hung up with Matt I have had phone calls from 2 other friends and have 5 new facebook friends from Chris/Cahn’s online Band of Brothers.
No one seem to have had any indication that Cahn was in trouble or was preparing to end his life. The guys I talked to on the phone all tell the story of an intelligent, interested, engaged, out of box thinker who loved to mess with people with his sense of humor. It was a relief to find that his online world that we knew so little of, turned out to be what sounds in essence like a band of brothers who enjoyed learning new games and conquering new worlds and games. That he talked about goings on in the world or chatted about things guys talk about.
Thank you for being there for Cahn in his Cyber World, Thank you for reaching out and filling in this void for us, and I hope we can fill in the void you have in knowing and understanding your lost friend Cahn.
I hope you find time in your grieving and attempts to understand what Chris has done that you feel you can share some stories or thoughts here on line where Chris’s Reality Family.

Wish I had a way to write out my emotions like that, tell him how cool a dude Cahn was. Just lack that particular skill set I guess.
So proud of everyone here, thank you so much for hearing my call and coming to comfort Cahns family.
