in p1, range starts way left of the iceblock, and everyone has to move on the first shadowtrap (either it's on range and we have to move out of it, or it's on melee, the boss gets moved, and range have to move to not be out of range). if range starts on iceblock we'd only have to move half the time (if shadowtrap is actually on range).
in p2, we are currently positioned like this (flip when we switch sides):
original edge ------------------------------------- stack (original position) -- boss/center -- tank
when the valks come down, everyone has to turn around to dps the valks, the tank has to turn the boss around to drag him along for cleave damage.
why don't we position it like this?
original edge -------------------------------------- tank -- boss -- stack (original position) -- center
no one has to turn around on the way out, and they only have to turn around on the way in (which they already had to do). also, given that boss is always casting shit and swinging his big swordaxe and lagging behind, you'd rather him start a bit in front of the valks so that he can keep up.
in p3 (haha we haven't been to p3 in 2 weeks like i remember), what are we doing right off the edge transition?
the boss tank and half the healers should be running way the fuck off to africa to the far side of the platform so that vile spirits spawn on the far side (and so that no one is tempted to dps the boss), while the raging tank should be on the near side right off the edge so that everyone gets as much raging dps time as possible before/right after the frostmourne. by the time the boss tank drags the lich king back to the near side (after vile spirits have spawned), the ragings should be dead, and the dps never even needs to move until vile spirits spawn on their side.
