How will WLPH handle new content?

Do we want to continue to focus on Ulduar achievements and let the Colosseum wait?
Do we want to ONLY do 1-keeper and 3-tree, eventually Algalon (doing the rest easy mode) in order to focus on the Colosseum?

As it stands, something is going to be ignored.

Be it the new content, the old content, or something in-between. I don't think we can maintain clearing ulduar HMs (if we are going to pour focus onto 3-tree and 1-keeper), if we want to work on the new raid(s). Just not enough time/raid days. The gear argument for continuing old ulduar HMs is nill as far as Im concerned. New raid gear will replace all but perhaps one or two select pieces of ulduar HM gear.


So what's it to be?

we only get 1 boss a week. hard modes dont come until full clear.

also a lot of the gear from hard mode ulduar is still bis for a few weeks.

but I fully expect that we are going to push new content as hard as we pushed mimiron these last 2 weeks and get our US rank under 100 where it should of been if we werent slacking on hard modes for a month.

Sounds good... I want them down as much as the next guy. But let it be known I'll be one incredibly disgruntled monkey if we waste any time, at all, banging heads on HMs we have already cleared.

One of my priorities as a raider is pushing new/uncleared content. I have no desire, what so ever, to stress over old HMs just because a couple people want an outdated BIS item that will last them a month or two. (the only exception to this is revisiting cleared HMs for the drakes, as required) Ultimately though, I dont control what we focus on. So that's just my two cents.

edit: Also the dkp wipe/normalization comes into play today, does it not?

There's Freya nerfs? I've not seen that. The only ones I saw were to Yogg.

If the nerfs are significant, then 3 Tree might be apt. But I'm generally a fan of progressing at a pace. 2 Tree and then 3 Tree seems best.

As far as the new content goes, I agree with Hitshade. Pushing new content is a major reason why I am here. Further, the slow gate system Blizz has put in place for this patch means that there isn't much new content out yet. There's no reason for us to not push it as doing so won't really detract from our Ulduar raiding.

Kill the one new boss today in an hour or so and then clear as much as we can up to Freya. Freya 2 Tree (or maybe 3) tomorrow and Thursday and then Yogg +1 on Sunday/Monday. Yogg should be much easier with his nerfs. We may not even need more than one day on him.

I dunno how the new bosses are going to be ranked on the progress sites, but I really think we should get him down today. I'd be a bit disappointed if we ended up low on progression again because we didn't get through the content as quickly as everyone else. I'm not a fan of marking our success as a guild by progression sites, but I do think we should be rated fairly with our skills. And that shit with Yogg really stung. For a long time were were poorly ranked for no good reason.



Here's the Yogg nerfs for anyone interested:

◦Players can now use Blink, Shadowstep, and Demonic Teleport while participating in the illusion events in the Yogg-Saron encounter.
◦Ominous Clouds in the Yogg-Saron encounter are now more vocal about touching players and should no longer sometimes appear to be in the wrong place for certain players.
◦An Immortal Guardian targeted for Empowering Shadows in the Yogg-Saron encounter will now become a 'Marked Immortal Guardian' while targeted.
◦Crusher Tentacles in the Yogg-Saron encounter spawn a little slower in 25-player mode allowing a bit more time for players to clear out the Illusion room.
◦Empowering Shadows in the Yogg-Saron encounter now targets a maximum of three Immortal Guardians in 25-player mode.
◦Yogg-Saron's health has been reduced by 20% in the final stage of his 25-player mode.

I haven't decided, I think I'm going to normalize it when the full heroic mode becomes available because that is when progression sites and shit will matter.
