yogg0 phase 3 pullout strat

some changes i had in mind:
1. Tank in the north right on the back of yogg so aoe/cleaves will hit yogg and the immortals, melee wont get parried.

2. Casters that cant damage yogg while facing yogg (everyone but afflic locks) are on adds and an = amount of melee will switch over to yogg. basically there is 1 or 2 wasted seconds of casting when they are turned around while melee can dps immediately.
melee should be full time on yogg and when they cant face him dps the adds.

3 or 4 people with this addon. 1 with master 2-3 with slave most likely the taunters.

We only need 18,750 aoe dps on each of the targets to keep them low for 20 seconds so im thinking mages rogues dks and priests should be enough aoe.

Locks need to be afflic... drain soul dps will be huge
At least 1 unholy DK

please feel free to add or revise anything. let me know. obviously if the healers arent able to taunt and maintain heals that can change to plate dpsers, but id highly recommend at least 1 hunter. strat alterations and revision will occur during progression, i dont expect this to be the bible, ive basically made this up from thirdhand experience.

Warrior: dps boss
Mage: Remove curse, dps adds, AE on Shadow Beacon.
Priest: Dots on boss, Shadow dps Beacon.
Shaman: ENH dps boss/ele adds
Death Knight: aoe Ebon Plague.
Paladin: Ret dps boss
Rogue: AE fok
Hunter: Dps boss and pull Phase 3 adds.
Druid: moonkin adds/feral on boss

did you factor in deafening roar too? or which tank would taunt the adds in a certain order like 1st add abec 2nd add rootbear and 3rd gemg or something like that.

I'm gonna have to ask some probably stupid questions because I didn't really understand a lot of that. Better I look dumb now than in the middle of raid, I guess. Let me go over what I think I do understand first.

So, from what I gather, the main difference between the 1 Keeper we've done and the 0 Keeper we're going to be working on is that the adds in P3 don't die. The adds won't go lower than 1% health no matter what we do. They do progressively less damage as their health goes down. However, Yogg likes to heal them.

Yogg casts Shadow Beacon on one of the adds (turning it into a "Marked Immortal Guardian") and then, ten seconds later, casts Empowering Shadows on that same mob. Empowering Shadows is like a mega aura that will heal the fuck out of any other mobs close to the one with the aura. So the plan is to taunt the add after it has Shadow Beacon but before it has Empowering Shadows so that when the aura is pulsing, it's not healing all the other bazillion adds that won't die.

Is that more or less it?


Questions I couldn't find answers to:

- When does he cast Shadow Beacon? From the fact that you've got 3 of us taunting, I would assume it's fairly often. One thing I read seemed to insinuate it was related to the health of the mobs, and another thing I read seemed to say he threw out several at a time on a regular interval.

- Does Empowering Shadows heal the mob it's on?

- How do we know the add that I taunt is not going to rape me? I'm going to be tanking it for 20 seconds or more. If it has low health and low damage output, then it's probably not an issue, but what if one has high health still?

- How am I going to keep it on me? Taunt only lasts so long. Will I need to try to threat it too? Or will we be chain taunting it around between the three of us?

- WTF does this mod do? It looks like it puts marks on any mob that gets Shadow Beacon. So basically, I'll be assigned an icon and will have to find and taunt that mark inside of about 5 seconds or so whenever it pops up. Sounds kinda easy but will be lame when there's 15 mobs all swarming the tank and I have to taunt one specific one.


How much healing you can expect from Jack and I is really dependent on how often we're gonna have to do this search and taunt shit. P3 healing is fairly light though assuming you do it right. We are going to have to go into that phase with virtually no tentacles up. We have not put much emphasis on getting these down in the past but three or more and you're probably looking at a wipe.

can always get a dps warrior and/or druid to do it too to taunt the marked adds away. i was also watching a 0 light kill vid and it said the cd on empowering shadow is like 45 sec from what i saw on the bossmods. Assuming i calculated it correctly the shadow beacon should happen every 35 seconds but thats might be off. someone correct me if i am wrong.

3 maximum at a time every 45 or so seconds

i think so

im not 100% positive but he only beacons targets on very low health, at 1hp they hit for like 10 damage tops

you only need it to be on you untill the heal goes out. im guessing about 6 or 7 seconds to locate and taunt, they move pretty fast so they should be on you when the heal starts at that point they should be returning to the tanks to be aoed

basically bigwigs and dbm suck ass and only marks beacon with a skull, so whoever has assist needs to disable that and this will mark the 3 marked adds with icons.
