Was watching arrested development on hulu with wow alt tabbed and all of a sudden this fake anti virus kicks in. I try activating avg immediately and it wouldn't launch any programs. It kept opening an australian Internet site so I yanked the cord. I eventually blue screened. I have no clue what could
have caused it, I have been cutting back on the Jack-off slammer website so I dunno where this thing came from. Anyway I'm taking it into a pc shop to be purged but I dunno how long it will take. If anything serious happens I'll post an update when I can.

copy your WoW folder to another drive and reformat/reinstall, copy WoW back and you're golden. I've done this about 50 times.

The "bluescreens" can be caused by the fake antiviruses, usually you can just hit the control key and they go away, they sometimes have hilarious error codes too. If it's a legit blue screen, write down the 0x000000xx error code.
Which fake AV is it? Antivirus 2009? Personal Antivirus? Regardless, updated Malwarebytes scanned in safe mode will get rid of either, sometimes there's faster ways.
www.malwarebytes.org, download the file, as in, don't just run it. Rename it to "virus.exe" or whatever, most of the time the malware programs have a name blacklist for installers. Install the program, go to C:/Program Files/Malwarebytes and rename "mbam.exe" to "virus.exe". Run the program, get rid of it, and install noscript onto firefox.
That's what you're paying the repair shop to do, they're very easy to remove.
