It's not retarded . But it is dipshitty. I fully admit I was being unfair and a dick, that was half the point and half the fun. My criticism remains valid however. There are military forces he (nor any of us) want to be associated with, it follows fairly intuitively that assuming somebody isn't a patriot because they don't obsess-over/care-for your own military is lazy thinking.
EDIT: Rereading what you said lawler...I don't think you understood a word I used. As such my above reply is pointless but retained for prosperity.

every one should revere the men and women serving their country
every one should criticize those who lead the men and women
if you dont want a piece of the war then ok but dont belittle someones desire because of your lack of sympathetic thinking

In a hurry so I'll make this brief.
Those claims are just thrown out without any justification and I find them completely unacceptable. And I'd argue I AM coming from a place of sympathy as well as a place of contemplation. Not a lack of sympathy.
Most politicians would claim (with some justification) that they're serving their country. I don't suppose you think we should revere them? I would support being thankful for the contribution of those serving in uniform, but reverence encourages knee-jerk reaction and lack of thought... it can lead to misuse of the military which can in turn harm the fighting men and women.
I'd argue everyone should criticise EVERYONE. nobody is off limits. And I'm not belittling his desire, I'm belittling his dismissal of those with a different ideology...as I said in my obscenely long post, fucker.

ITS LIKE YOU READ HALF MY POST
if your power bill gets trippled and you call into the call center you dont get mad at the first level support guy you get mad at the account manager
if you get hit by a car you dont blame tires you blame the driver
if the armed forces are doing something you are morally against you dont blame the individual soldiers you blame those in control of the soldiers

Ok, gonna assume you're trolling me, because you've entered a new plane of crazy. I'm suggesting not giving soldiers hero worship simply for being soldiers, and saying that they're not immune to criticism. I'm not saying they should be criticised for things they do when obeying orders; simply that they're human and not beyond reproach.

Also your post was a few sentences and I replied to every one of them...just out of order. I don't see where you get the idea of me reading just half your post. Regardless, the thrust of my ridiculously long essay had nothing to do with "soldiers are bad people and should be punished", nor would I claim that in a million years. I did however have a go at the mindless praise heaped upon them, and in particular, the people giving that mindless praise.
