Combat Parses
- l Serenity l's World of Logs Combat Parse
I run the Serenity WoL parses. The parses that are there, are the nights I was there (the nights we raided, basically). Sometimes I'm elemental.
Boss Knowledge/Difficulty
- I am updated on strategies for all current hard-mode encounters, and have personally faced and/defeated every boss from Molten Core to Icecrown save hard-mode Twins and Anub. My achievements do not reflect Sunwell as I have not been back inside the instance to get the achievement, since it did not carry over after the expansion hit.
Pre-nerf, Mimiron hard-mode is probably the most difficult boss to date I've encountered. Aside from that, Ouro would probably be next on the list. There was great satisfaction when that bitch finally died.
Previous Guilds/Servers
- I have resided on Scilla for approximately 3-4 years. In that timespan, I have been in a very small amount of noteworthy guilds:
Vendetta
Shaman Class Leader.
Cleared all Burning Crusade content, Karazhan to Black Temple, as a "top" progression guild (around the last quarter or two of BC, many of the upper end guilds ended up transferring off, leaving us as "the best horde guild" by default. I refrain from calling the guild such. We did push progression pretty well. The guild ended up collapsing after the guild leader, her online boyfriend, and a few officers transferred to Cho'gal. Ironically, it was the same night we got our first Warglaive.
l Serenity l
Core Raider.
I ended up in Serenity by means of friends gravitating here. The guild is mediocre in progression, though it's hard to gauge as all the horde guilds on our server are mediocre. I have difficulty justifying leaving this guild to join any of the others, as I feel I'd just be joining just as mediocre of a guild. What's the point? Regardless, I have shown to 80% of the raids, collected my DKP, and very rarely spent it. The leadership is very lackluster, and I'm looking for a new home. I feel the amount of dedication I put forth isn't justified by the progression we make. I'm looking to raid in a tier where I will feel comfortable, rather than irritated. Scilla's alliance side, and your guild, have what I'm looking for.
Attendance
- I work retail. My schedule can change on whim, whenever the managers get pissed off and feel like pissing me off. Typically, I work an 8-5 (Central) job, with two weekdays off, which are normally scheduled as raid days. Based on what's "typical", I can make all raid days. Sometimes there's an exception. If so, it's always informed of an enormous time in advance.
Why WLPH?
- I sort of touched on this a few paragraphs ago. It's been almost a year since I've raided with a raid team that puts forth an amount of effort equivalent or greater than I do. It's irritating. Coming with flasks, a stack of fish feasts, and mana potions to last an entire night should be expected, and here.. it's not. I love competition. The healing meters are a great source of competition, and yes, I like being on top. People argue the healing meters mean nothing, and I can digress against it. Point is, without competition, you don't have a good reason to push yourself to be as good as you can be, and that's where I stand - always improving, always conquering. I've played this shaman a total of four years, and I'm happy to say I've got it down to an art. I've strayed away from reading theorycrafting because I've begun to notice that, without reading hour and hours worth of material and making the judgments I feel are right for my class and raid environment, I usually end up doing exactly what the numbers end up crunching out to. And with that, I feel a sense of security and confidence that I clearly know my class, inside and out.
Interface
- - X-Perl, custom made kgPanels, Bartender, Recount.
- I use TotemTimers to monitor Earth Shield charges, time on my Earthliving Weapon, time left on my Ankh, and timers on Totems in general. (Central and Right top bars)
- I use Tell Me When to monitor when Riptide and Nature's Swiftness are off cooldown. (2-button bar to left of totems).
Why WLPH, again?
- Pretty much have answered this question over the course of the last questions, though I will say one of the deciding factors for apping to you is one thing in particular: longevity. You've been around for a long time, and you've got a lot to show for it. As much of a clusterfuck your website appears to be, it's got a lot of memories, I'm sure, and a lot of proof that you've been-there-done-that. I'm impressed by that.
And with that, I appreciate your time in reviewing my app. Any questions or comments, I'll be checking back often to answer. Thanks again.
