Ten years from now, I want you to try and tell me one thing you learned from High School that was used to better your life.

Personally, I can't even think of one. Everything of any import whatsoever was taught prior to High School or in College once I'd picked a profession.

I learned calculus in high school, which I'm using currently and will be using later in life. I learned intermediate algebra in high school, which I'm currently still using daily and will be important in my later jobs. High school English was much more advanced than middle school English, so chalk that in there, too. It will be important for me to have excellent writing skills when I have a job. I also learned how to write a good resume, another good thing to know in 10 years. You never know when you are going to change jobs. I learned about world religions and different cultures around the world, which is part of being a well rounded individual. I also learned how to FUCK YER MOM.

But I'm sure I will change my mind in 10 years and these will magically become unimportant then, amirite?

Using derivatives to find marginal product values when given a utility function for consumption. Also on the production side of things, with marginal product of labor / capital with a given production function (what's your junction?). Taking the integrals of equations to get the area between two lines on a graph to analyze how much is lost or gained when changing factors around like price floors, government taxes, new technology changes, etc. Gogo economics. Definitely using it. Gogo finance, definitely used it and will be using it next semester as well as in my future job.

P.S. Derivatives and integrals are calculus, for the 90% of the guild who doesn't know.
