You're right, us waiting is what caused 3 seconds and no heals on tank deaths and prevented people from running away with defile instead of throwing it in the middle of the room. It had completely nothing to do with the 'good' people getting defile and able to run it out to the perfect spot every time the first attempt, followed by a wipe because of a bad defile and a person who ran falks the wrong way.

IMO it has more to do with people being careless, distracted, lazy, or some combination of the three and not any of the mechanics of the fight.
