Yeah I agree, the healing stuff is a fair bit off. Again, this is not a fucking post about YOURE DOING THIS WRONG, its just a resource to help some, I know it helped me open my eyes a little on some of my reforges for max avoidance, I gained .8% avoidance by using it.

Trying to argue that fact that its OMG SO WRONG is an obvious statement so save your key strokes and use the site as a resource, not as a encyclopedia.

also i like how you link to the mages saying how they should be reforging differently. i'm pretty sure it's because they switch back and forth between arcane and fire, which emphasizes different stat (and you lol at myndor for hearthing to reforge)

i never said that people should reforged or respec to what its saying, just showing alternate ideas. Stop getting defensive. Some people are missing a large amount of stats, or are FAR over stat caps raid buffed.

i see you have further edited the post. and i point out again that dist's link is using bad presets. she is obviously gearing for 2005 haste cap, but the default preset is for the 9xx haste cap

Players are smart enough to know its not optimal by default after looking at it. I'm not being defensive, I just hate when people try to take something positive and spin it like a negative. I never said once that people need to follow it, you just inferred it, and inferred that I said that the mages need to do, etc etc.

Use the site as hints if you need it, this has no bearing on raid spots.

I wasn't too impressed with the suggestions it was giving me when I looked the other day. It didn't tell me to do anything ridiculously stupid, but it did give way too much weight to spellpower. This causes it to suggest a WotLK enchant for gloves instead of 50 Haste. This particular mistake is a common flaw that occurs in many of these modeling sites/programs. As is the suggestion of PT over HS on weapon. In theory, PT is better than HS - but in practice that requires timing the 50% reduced healing of DP with a random proc off your weapon instead of using it when lulls in combat permit. A far from ideal proposition in reality.

I think these kinds of sites work well for fixing mistakes on your alts or looking up people whose class you don't play. But if you know what you're doing, the best these sites can do for you is to catch something you missed but already knew. At worst, they will tell you to do something that's just plain wrong.
