Linux / VMware ESX
We are looking for a highly skilled Linux / VMware Systems Engineer. The right individual will be highly dynamic, self starting Unix engineer to join an existing team of experienced engineers. The role is challenging, diverse and at times high pressured encompassing the design, implementation and support roles. Virtualization is extensively used for Unix and Windows deployments. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the future direction of the virtual platform. The candidate must clearly demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting and supporting Linux / UNIX and Windows systems, both physical and virtual, performance management and configuration management. The candidate must also understand the performance implications of server consolidation. The candidate must also have the ability to manage small projects and directly gather requirements from the business and other IT teams.T he candidate must enjoy working in a close team environment and have the ability to manage their workload and deadlines. The candidate must be able to clearly communicate with others at all levels [IT & non IT].
In this role you will be responsible for:
Design, develop, integrate, implement and improve Customer’s VMware and Hyperv virtualization solutions to support client and project requirements.
Design, architect and implement Customer’s VDI environments while making sure users’ computing experience does not change.
Build, design, test and support Linux system and remote computing applications such as : NX protocol, VNC, etc..
Demonstrated expertise in planning, designing and implementing VMware vSphere virtualization in a large data center environment including VMware HA, DRS, VMotion and SVMotion
Assessing, planning and performing physical to virtual server conversions (P2Vs).
Perform Capacity Planning exercises with good knowledge of VMware Capacity Planner tools.
Extensive Knowledge of NFS, iSCSI and SAN technologies to collaborate with Storage Teams.
Good understanding of networking technologies.
Ability to managing multiple priorities, concurrent objectives, projects and activities.
Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
Excellent technical and non-technical written and oral communication skills.
Ability to engage across department boundaries and at multiple levels where necessary to support technology solutions and technical infrastructure.
University bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent
Implement subsequent builds and provide full cycle support for the product from project to production.
Provide after hours support and on-call duties

Required Skills/experience:
Five+ years working with VMware infrastructure, including architectural design, storage design, VMware networking configuration and server administration.
Must have designed and implemented complex Windows, Linux - and VMware -based enterprise solutions
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have advanced experience in vSphere and Hyperv including architecture, Deployment and support, in addition to other VMware products such as vCD, CapIQ, Converter, SRM etc..
VMware Certification (VCP) is a must.
Must have experience with VDI (VMware view 5.0) with a proven record of implementation and support.
Advanced experience in different flavors of Linux administration
Experience with Perl, PowerShell and Linux Scripting.
Good understanding of SAN / NAS administration
Good experience with Windows Operating systems.(Windows 2003 and Windows 2008)
Ability to work in a team and independently.
