Abe,

I have tried for the last few weeks to fool myself into believing I could get my life in order, and that I would never have to write you this letter, but I've finally realized how selfish and unfair it is of me to keep you and the guild in the dark. First of all I want to apologize for how long it has taken me to give you the news, and for my overall lack of presence in the game or otherwise.

I hate to sound cliche but a LOT has happened lately. First, I landed a pretty big promotion at work and they have been scheduling me during the week, and will continue to do so at their discretion. My availability had to be open or they would have passed me up. I have student loans to take care of and I'm almost doubling my monthly income because of this promotion, it's really going to help me out. I'd say 50% of our raid nights I'd be home half an hour late, 25% I would be on time, and the remainder I simply just couldn't make it. And of course the days that I could be there are pretty random.

I also fell into a pretty steady relationship with a lady friend of mine a few weeks back, and that has been taking up a lot of my time. Beyond that, my Mother's personal business has fallen on hard times and I spend a lot of my free time at her shop helping her out. On top of all of this, a very close friend of mine passed away in a car accident last week, and that has really hit me hard. I'd rather not get too detailed with it, but long story short I was there when it happened and my actions, while heroic and righteous in their own right, may have indirectly caused her death. A lot of people see me as a hero but I definitely blame myself to some extent and it has taken a tole on my psyche.

I tried and tried to find the time and energy to log on, but clearing Naxx for the umpteenth time, hearing the same jokes and dealing with the same crap, knowing that one of a hundred other people could easily take my spot really couldn't motivate me enough. I feel like I let the guild down and more importantly to me, I feel like I let you down. You have bailed me out of a few tight spots and have always treated me with a lot of respect. I know I don't speak up much but I hope my actions and attitudes always reflected my personality well enough. I'm truly sorry if I've put you in any sort of bind or forced you to make any sort of sacrifice or decision you weren't prepared for.

That being said, I have no intentions of quitting the game or leaving the guild. You guys are my family and I will be there with you as much as I can. I really hope I can get my life back in order and start playing more often. Of course, I understand the level of commitment and dedication you are all ready to put on the line for Ulduar, and if my current credentials won't cut it I won't and couldn't feel sour about it. If you feel you need to find a replacement for me I give you my blessing, and perhaps you already have. All in all I want you to know that my passion hasn't dwindled, but I won't let my ego get the best of me. I know the score and regardless of what happens I want the guild to come first.

Thanks for reading Abe, I hope to see you in game soon, or at least hear your sexy voice in Vent. If people have or start to ask about me, feel free to tell them what's up, but I would really rather not share my life story on the general forums. (lol oh well.)
