So I've been talking to this guy online for about half a year now. He says he totally loves me and my personality, and I love him too. We live REALLY far apart and just cant afford to visit each other right now. I'd walk to him if the sea didn't separate us. We are planning to meet up in a year...if all goes well.

Now all I'm hearing from everyone else is "HURR HURR interbuttz r3latinships=FAILz lollercaust"

He doesn't talk himself up, rather he goes on about how weird he is. He says his weirdness/animefanboyism might scare me...but to be honest I find that hot. So he doesn't do any internet tuffguy lies.

What if everyone is right, what if this is fail? I'd be wasting all these months obsessing and falling in love with someone who I may end up hating when we meet up...or even worse, I'm being fucking played by him all this time (Maybe he is probably getting his ass pounded by two cawks as I type this). If it is fail, I'd have lost about 2 years of my life and all those missed opportunities (yes I've knocked down 2 people in the last 6 months cause of this guy)

But what if everyone is wrong. What if he is my soulmate? What if we meet up and we know it was supposed to be? We hit it off.

I don't know what to do anymore. I can't think straight.

Honestly if you live in a small town like I do where everyone is either already dating, cousins, or both, 2 relationships every 6 months is a pretty good track record.

Edit: Let me clarify I'm sure there are some wonderful stories out there about people who met on the internet and have been married since al gore invented it and they met on prodigy (ROFL) but the chances of the person youre talking to on vent/aim/irc/etc being the same person IRL is slim to none. The only reason these dating sites are even remotely successful is the fact that if you are really trying that hard to find basically anyone, you're gonna find someone.
