Warcraft got lucky, IMO. They used Blizzard's good name to stand out in the beginning and amassed a huge player base. More people means more $$$. Which is how WoW has maintained its other shining quality. Content. The depth of content and the speed with which new stuff is released in WoW is amazing. I mean, think about it. Every five months or so, you're playing a significantly different game.

Guild Wars is amazing to look at, but somewhere around 20 days /played and you're just done. Not that the game got bad or boring, but you've just experienced all the content that it has to offer.

Yah so what we've learned from wow is keep rehashing the same shit but put it with some different surroundings and rape/buff the shit out of certain classes periodically and you'll keep your player base.

It's pretty sad cause looking back after Naxx it woulda been better to just switch games. It seems every MMO I have played has pretty much gone to shit after the first, or for sure the second expansion.

everquest put out like 6 expansions before they started instancing raid zones and took away the actual guild competition, which was the best part of raiding! wiping the other guilds while they try and progress so you can farm the top tier yourselves for a few more months <3 SoL and PoP.

EVE has 3 or 4 out now and it's still good too.

I disagree about EQ, the game sucked as soon as Planes of Power came out and they started using AA points instead of levels. Just my opinion though.

What kills me, is how poorly it performs. I sometimes drop to 10fps or lower in raids/dalaran...

Hooray for quoting my own post... but I found this interesting. Apparently Vista sucks a vastly superior amount of dicks than I originally thought. Just for the fuck of it, I installed the Windows 7 RC yesterday. Im now getting 10-15 additional fps in Dalaran. Yay. To say nothing of the fact my comp no longer takes 5 fucking minutes to boot.
