To hell with screenshots, whats the gameplay like? Fun? Not fun? Too easy? Too hard? Too similar?

Hmmmm gameplay is pretty fun, I expect more with the coming levels next weekend/beyond. (Knowing what I do about WoW I wouldnt want someone judging WoW by the first 10 levels so I'm still open minded) Very similar, people wouldn't have any problem transitioning, almost laughingly similar at times but not a game thats fighting for balance between the classes atm. Not too easy, most classes cant 2v1 mobs their level or even 1 below them unless its a close match. I just rerolled Cleric so we have a healer grinding level 16+ mobs for lewt to sell for next weekends beta once the level cap is raised to 20. Much more indepth with everything than WoW. Give me 20-30 more levels and I'll tell you if it's a replacement. There are so many spells to learn and raids to see.

Messin around at other ppl's house doesn't count. I'd play randomly if someone else paid, but if i put my money, then i want my money's worth =]]]

so far the biggest problems is that they just HAND you gear in the form of BIG ASS BOXES
ps: the main reason i am so sold on Aion is that fact that it plays like a single player rpg for the first 10 levels at least i saw adds for this game like a year ago with the aerial combat and all that and was interested and when it resurfaced with an incoming beta i went out and pre-ordered without even blinking an eye. its pretty, interesting combo system lends a bit of depth to the combat but in practice no more then the already in place short cooldown long cooldown system wow uses. it is sorting out to be a grind heavy game, where in you just spend lots of time gathering items for turn ins, gathering gold for money sinks, gathering crafting mats for consumables, gathering divine power just to have an extra chance at making blue items while you craft (divine power disappears when you log and you only accumulate it when you kill something and do not die) this game also looks stunning and awe striking comparatively to wow.. watch this youtube video to see the texture they used for this boss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIVFBNysZwU if you have ever played any oriental based mmo and enjoyed it this game is going to hit home with you if you havent and really just want a pick up and play game then id honestly suggest not picking it up |
