Offspec: PVE disc, used primarily for Vezzax pain suppression rotation.
Alt: Ængyll Paladin ( prot/ret or holy ) downtime character, geared enough to tank ulduar 10 maybe.

5. We are a raiding guild and are usually in the top 100 guilds in the US; it is expected you have raiding experience and know ALL encounters and hard modes currently in game! In your opinion, what is the most difficult boss encounter you have ever defeated and why?:
Furthest progression = Yog phase 3 with Harpell.
Hardest encounter imo = tough to say, was in t2 before AQ came out. really enjoyed 40 man content in it's day... but I think 25 man content gets the nod for difficulty just because it eliminates some of the room for overlapping of players skill. So I would actually say that KT and Vashj were some of my favorite fights to get down. Vashj in particular as a spriest because striders were easy-mode. =P

Possible reasons for unavailability.... death of myself and/or someone i care about, maybe severe illness. Close proximity of a beautiful woman minus clothing. (Just being honest) Though I promise to let you all know ahead of time if possible, the death one might be tough, but I'll try.

8. Explain what specifically puts you at the top? We raid to be at the top and expect it of all our members. Do you take pride in topping meters, never letting the tank die, never pulling aggro, etc.? What separates you from the rest? Be specific, this will be a major indicator of the kind of player you are:
Approximately half of my inventory at any given time is usually raiding materials, a large portion of the rest is usually my offspec gear. I come ready. I did more dmg(aka more mana at the time) in 4 pc tier 4 than my competition in full t6 in BT. Topping meters is often reliant on the fight but I've won my share.
I max my cooking/fishing/first aid as par for the course.

10. If you have thoroughly answered the following questions and you are confident you are what we are looking for, you have a good chance of being trialed, but we'd like to know why you want to join us? What made you choose us over the other guilds out there?
Have vague connections from previous server, but mostly the glowing recommendations from Antaries and Lumiya. The server pop is actually a little lower than I was expecting to look for, but the quality of your guild certainly is hard to resist. I missed my plagued proto drake by 10% on sarth because Azshara couldn't field decent players. The prospect of actually getting the hard modes and the achievements is a large part of why I am applying to WLPH.

after reading the replies to some of the other apps I fully expect the flames to be aimed my way, gear/gemming will probably be the first target. Hit me with whatever ya got. I can't exactly improve the gear on Asszhara, but I can certainly regem as several others stated the guild we are coming from was not strict enough to enforce maximized gemming. Let me know anything you want changed, if I can find a GD JC on Asszhara I'll get it done.

I don't know how I feel about that statement. It shouldn't matter what your guild is or isn't strict enough to enforce, you should want to be the absolute best you can be regardless.

Dear Engyll,

Sup Shar here. As the only shadow priest in our guild the task to judge you and prey upon your weaknesses falls to me. As with any professional critiquing, I'm going to be following the Stewie "Compliment Sandwich" model.












Pros: App was filled out properly, you used phrases and terms that can be considered at least somewhat "advanced" relative to the 'Cess Pool that is WoW. For the most part your gemming and enchants are fine.






Cons: Your spec upsets me. Imp Shadowform is a must have for almost every HM in Ulduar, including Thorim, Mimiron, Hodir, even Freya to some extent. You will never need shadow affinity in our raids. Maybe threat was an issue in your old guild but I can assure you shadow priests are the least likely to pull threat at any time if played properly. The slight (though still relevant) DPS you lose for only 2/3 shadow weaving is probably equaled out to the utility of inner focus, though personally I prefer the DPS boost. If you are one of those badasses that inner focus/Divine Hymns then I'll allow it.

Your pants with the hit/stam gem are really awful, especially considering you are almost 1% over hit cap assuming you have a shaman (which you will.) Also your helm with spell pen and even more hit has to go.

You have little if any Ulduar gear, either 10 or 25 man. That said your haste is fine, your spell power (for your gear) is fine, but your crit is probably a little low. Crit is definitely the preferred stat in my opinion for the majority of hard modes, where a lot of movement or damage modifying elements come into play. You have practically no Ulduar 10 or 25 man achievements, either, which leads me to believe you have very little experience on hard modes. Luckily shadow priests have an incredibly easy job of raiding these days. Now that our rotations have been practically spoon fed to us due to forced cooldowns, all we have to worry about is surviving and moving.







Pros: You seem like a smart, albeit inexperienced Ulduar player. With no other shadow priests I am definitely willing and capable of taking you under my wing, Sith style, and explaining every fight and how to improve at all times. Most of the gear I was using before the better Ulduar 25 stuff is being sharded in our raids right now. I don't think gearing you out to be almost on par with me will be a problem.
















Conclusion: If you are willing to put in the effort to consistently show up and perform for 90% of our raids, regem your stam/hit/spell pen, and really learn the fights and ask questions, your inexperience and lack of gear are very tiny issues. Honestly we are looking for someone who cares about progression, won't emo out if we wipe or have to replace you for a better suited class/player, and who adapts quickly to our raid makeup and synergy. If you think you can meet all those expectations, you'll have a permanent raiding spot in a HM Ulduar guild, assuming you don't absolutely abysmally suck. Fair Warning though, broseph, if we give you more than one week of "second chances" during your trial, you may be gkicked and your transfer would be pretty worthless. If after all that you are still interested, let me know here and I'll pretty much approve your invitation with Abec.

Engyll's a good reliable player. His gear is a little lacking because he couldn't start Ulduar with us right away due to real life events but he's been raiding with us the past few weeks. But I'd stand behind him.
