As I'm sure everyone is aware, I died on Thaddius due to standing still during Polarity Shift. I just want to say that I take full responsibility, regardless of circumstances, for my death and full blame can rest on my shoulders. I am not upset at Abe for his reaction or at anyone else for their harsh criticisms of what happened. I have been with the guild for quite a while, and from my first night of M'uru attempts until now, there have only been three times I have "screwed up" in a raid. The first being a mis-timed Mass Dispel on the skulls for M'uru. The second time being a laughable mistake leaving /walk toggled and getting conflagged on Twins. 90%+ raid attendance, in the ranks for guild first M'uru, KJ, and one of the first 80s in the guild. I have never spammed Vent or harassed or ridiculed any of our fellow members. I transferred to Scilla despite having almost 5 years of history with Nath, leaving behind friends and memories alikeI keep my head down and typically I don't screw up. Do I top meters? No. But I sure as Hell try.
The point I'm making is, despite all of the contributions I've made, I still do not hold myself in amnesty for an unfortunate accident that happened on my watch. Did I maliciously sabotage the raid? Did personal player skill gimp my ability to live? No. But the point is that I'm the one who died, and to no one's fault but my own. If people wish to continually give me crap about dying, or how I died, that's fine. I'm not really bothered by it. I doubt anyone who hasn't had the displeasure of dying on an Immortal run can really understand the feeling in the pit of your stomach of total failure; realizing that you have wasted the time and efforts of 24 other people for yet another week. It's absolutely devastating, and if people don't think I am genuinely more upset than they are about what happened, they need to get a grip.
So, I want to again apologize for causing us to fail Immortal this week. I know everyone, especially Abe, has put an absolute insane amount of effort and stress into pulling this off. We have done every single fight with no deaths countless times, but we continually get knocked down by the most unfair, luck-based, random elements that no one can really account for. If anyone doesn't know what happened, I guess I'll briefly explain it. Once every few months, my internet will be disrupted by my garage door opening/closing. I have a hard-line internet connection and I typically do not DC or have computer-based issues. Someone came home later than normal from work tonight and it just so happened that for the first time in months the garage interfered with my net. And wouldn't you know, the lock up perfectly coincided with Polarity Shift. I disconnected and Vent lagged out a bit, I kept hearing "FUCKIN SHARF" repeated over and over by Abe. It was the most upsetting moment in my raiding career. And trust me when I say that I've been in some stressful raiding environments.
To conclude, I'm sorry for what happened. If you feel the need to harass me or give me crap in order to feel better about what happened, go for it. Abe, I'm not upset in the slightest for your reaction. I really feel like I let you down in particular. Not only do I understand the decision to keep me out of Immortal runs, I would actually probably prefer it. To me raiding is about the challenge of team work and coordination. There is a difference between good stress and bad. There is a difference between pushing my focus to its max to down M'uru and hoping someone doesn't open my garage again. This achievement has little to do with the skill of the raid, and to me the pressure it puts on us to perform beyond our realm of control simply isn't worth it.
1. Your in-game name (and alts):
Kinetix, no alts.
2. Class (again), spec(again), profs, and off specs you have gear for AND CAN PLAY COMPETENTLY:
Rogue, mutilate, Jewelcrafting and Engineering, mmm maybe combat.
5. We are a raiding guild and ended TBC top 200 US; it is expected you have raiding experience and know ALL fights you will be brought to. What is your raid experience (Vanilla WoW, TBC, Wrath [List All]):
Vanilla WoW: MC/BWL/AQ20/AQ40/ZG/Naxx.
TBC: SSC/TK/BT/Mount Hyjal
6. Previous guilds/servers and reason for leaving:
I've been in scilla since day one... and I've probably been in the top raiding guilds: Dark Focus (Vanilla WoW), Premonition (TBC), Redemption (Wrath) they could have been one of the top before you guys xfered but they are terribads with gear so I just left.
7. It is assumed you will be available from 8-12 ST (Server Time is EST) Sunday through Thursday, if you can’t, please explain why you couldn't make our scheduled raid times (or why you even bothered applying):
I can make all the raids.
8. Explain what specifically puts you at the top? We raid to be at the top and expect it of all our members. Do you take pride in topping meters, never letting the tank die, never pulling aggro, etc.? What separates you from the rest? Be specific, this will be a major indicator of the kind of player you are!
I like to go all out with consumables, flask, etc. to pull the best Dps posible, of course before wrath in every raid i usually made it top 3 or 5. Sadly rogue's aren't the best dps class in pve atm but who gives a shit.
9. Post a screenshot of your UI (Thumbnail Please) or a comprehensive list of mods that you use for raiding (Screenshot prefered.) ARE YOU A CLICKER Y/N?
I'm not a clicker lol and the UI screenshot is attached to the post.
10. If you have thoroughly answered the following questions and you are confident you are what we are looking for, you have a good chance of being trialed, but we'd like to know why you want to join us? What made you choose us over the other guilds out there?
You guys got a leet guild name imo lol and for the gear I've seen on most of your members you guys def now what you are doing so I'd like to raid with pros not with scrubs.
11. Add anything else you think we’d find interesting (such as you’re a GM, you recorded WWS for your old guild, you were an officer or did assignments in a past guild, you are Kalgan’s alt [Fuck that guy], or anything else noteworthy).
12. In regards to Ventrilo, do you have a WORKING microphone? Do you actually USE IT in a raid situation?
Yep, yep.
I intend to have a forum post for every time we fail at immortal until we get it. If it's an obvious mistake you take the pun (purpose of the BADS page) or if it's a complicated mistake we figure out how to fix it by looking into logs and mechanics. Threads that everybody can see and comment on are more beneficial than yelling on vent, docking DKP, buying bags, etc.
So grats Alyse this week, at least there are no WoW Web Stats or combat logs to look into, you just fucked up pal, easy fix
And hopefully this is the last post of this kind, since we've experienced just about every RNG, unlucky, lagged, and bugged misfortune we could on immortal runs.
1. Your in-game name (and alts): Josip Hunter. Yourdad 70 pally.
2. Class (again), spec(again), profs, and off specs you have gear for AND CAN PLAY COMPETENTLY: Hunter, Survival, Enchanting and mining, No off specs due to being a hunter. I believe I can play competently.
3. Armory links (a must, hyperlink pref): http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet...la&n=josip Would like to explain why I have a stupid pvp helmet. It had hit rating my other one dident I lost some crit and a bit of Attack power for 44 hit. So I chose to get it. I want to replace it Asap.
4. Any WWS or WMO links to your performance in a raid (recommended): No sorry.
5. We are a raiding guild and ended TBC top 200 US; it is expected you have raiding experience and know ALL fights you will be brought to. What is your raid experience (Vanilla WoW, TBC, Wrath [List All]): Pre BC I did ZG and thats about it. I think I did MC a few times.
TBC I did kara, za, gruul, tk, ssc, 3/4 hyjal 4/9 BT This was all pre nerf.
Wotlk I've done 10,25 man vault and sarth. Cleared 10man naxx. Almost downed malygos got to third phase with about 2min 45seconds left. Done spider and Plague Quarter.
6. Previous guilds/servers and reason for leaving: War ward. I am sick of being in a guild that cant focus on a boss for 2 minutes.
7. It is assumed you will be available from 8-12 ST (Server Time is EST) Sunday through Thursday, if you can’t, please explain why you couldn't make our scheduled raid times (or why you even bothered applying): I can't. This is because I live in Australia. Now I am meaning to apply as a casual player. and perhaps go as a back up to a raid if you guys need it.
8. Explain what specifically puts you at the top? We raid to be at the top and expect it of all our members. Do you take pride in topping meters, never letting the tank die, never pulling aggro, etc.? What separates you from the rest? Be specific, this will be a major indicator of the kind of player you are! Well, I am always top 3 in 25mans for dps. I don't pull agro I have been known to did when the tank is bad. Other than that I don't. I take quite a bit of pride being top of the meters because it means I am doing what I should be doing to be up to there. I study boss fights inside out so if something for some reason is forgotten I'll often say what was missed.
9. Post a screenshot of your UI (Thumbnail Please) or a comprehensive list of mods that you use for raiding (Screenshot prefered.) ARE YOU A CLICKER Y/N? Lol I am not a clicker. I key bind almost everything expect for things I only press rarely. e.g. feed pet. etc I use the standard Blizzard UI because I think they did a good job with it. I use to use spartanUI.
10. If you have thoroughly answered the following questions and you are confident you are what we are looking for, you have a good chance of being trialed, but we'd like to know why you want to join us? What made you choose us over the other guilds out there? Well you guys seem to like to have fun. Which is something I like to do. I chose you guys because I'm not looking for a up tight guild.
11. Add anything else you think we’d find interesting (such as you’re a GM, you recorded WWS for your old guild, you were an officer or did assignments in a past guild, you are Kalgan’s alt [Fuck that guy], or anything else noteworthy). I was a GM of my guild a long long time ago. But all we did is clear kara. It was just done with a few friends from school. I normally give my enchanting mats for people for free if they are guildies. I love the TV show lost. I love kool aid so much I import it from the US. I'm one of scilla's most annoying players. But I actually know how to play my class and read as much as I can about it so I can get better.
12. In regards to Ventrilo, do you have a WORKING microphone? Do you actually USE IT in a raid situation? Yes always.
Well have fun evaluating.
P.S. Would like to mention, I do about 3500-4500 dps in raids depends on the boss and raid make up.
1. Your in-game name (and alts): Refill/Refillable
2. Class (again), spec(again), profs, and off specs you have gear for AND CAN PLAY COMPETENTLY: Death Knight, Blood (DPS), 450 mining, have tanking gear.
3. Armory links (a must, hyperlink pref): Armory busy atm
4. Any WWS or WMO links to your performance in a raid (recommended):i've used WWS before
5. We are a raiding guild and ended TBC top 200 US; it is expected you have raiding experience and know ALL fights you will be brought to. What is your raid experience (Vanilla WoW, TBC, Wrath [List All]): Never raided classic, done full clear everything in TBC except sunwell, and done everything in WOLK except for 3 drake sarth.
6. Previous guilds/servers and reason for leaving: Eminence from Smolderthorn..I transferred.
7. It is assumed you will be available from 8-12 ST (Server Time is EST) Sunday through Thursday, if you can’t, please explain why you couldn't make our scheduled raid times (or why you even bothered applying): I can make times.
8. Explain what specifically puts you at the top? We raid to be at the top and expect it of all our members. Do you take pride in topping meters, never letting the tank die, never pulling aggro, etc.? What separates you from the rest? Be specific, this will be a major indicator of the kind of player you are!
I always check my omen to see my threat because at the beginning of a fight, my CDs go off and i usually start out at the top. Then i sometimes have to take it easy depending on the tank's threat. I love topping meters and it makes me feel good.
9. Post a screenshot of your UI (Thumbnail Please) or a comprehensive list of mods that you use for raiding (Screenshot prefered.) ARE YOU A CLICKER Y/N? Yes im a clicker.
10. If you have thoroughly answered the following questions and you are confident you are what we are looking for, you have a good chance of being trialed, but we'd like to know why you want to join us? What made you choose us over the other guilds out there? I have walked around most major cities and have seen the titles and gear you have achieved, and i would like to join because that shows that you don't fail, and you know what you guys are doing.
11. Add anything else you think we’d find interesting (such as you’re a GM, you recorded WWS for your old guild, you were an officer or did assignments in a past guild, you are Kalgan’s alt [Fuck that guy], or anything else noteworthy). On boss fights i can put out at least 3-4k dps raid buffed.
12. In regards to Ventrilo, do you have a WORKING microphone? Do you actually USE IT in a raid situation? Yes
