The dumb part is that I'm okay with how much I die. In Act III, I kill roughly 50% of elites without a death, 35% with 2-3 deaths and kite and park like 15% of them due to stupid afixes I can see being a problem or 2-3 deaths with no progress. This feels like an okay level of death during progression (I still haven't fully cleared the Act - been taking my time, reclearing old acts, ponies and parts of Act III). But Blizzard is basically saying that you shouldn't do any content you don't overgear. That seems... stupid.

I just saw a thread in mmo champion with Alyse schooling all those glass cannons.
Anyway, what I find frustrating is that after a lot of "butcher farming" i was finally on "act 3 farming" and now with the high cost on death its just not worth it. I may end up some gold above but not enough to seriously stash up for upgrades, so the most efficient farm is now.... act 1... again... (I can actually do Act 2 also without many casualties but seriously fuck act 2).
I have to agree I feel like doing progression is just too damn expensive with no reward at all. Also I feel like a lot if items just went through a serious gold inflation in the last days.

The DH whining just pisses me off. I think the thread you're talking about is the one where the guy's argument is literally, "I'm mad because Blizz gave me an expectation that I'd be stupid OP and then took it away." He's not even bothering to try and pretend like his class was ballanced. Somehow he believes DH should be God Mode because that's how the game shipped.
People. I swear.
But yeah. I feel pretty much the same as Talith. I really wish I'd not taken my time and finished the game pre-patch. Then I would probably be okay with farming whatever. But right now, I want to progress and am finding it damn near close to prohibitively expensive to do so. Progression should involve a fair amount of dying. But Blizzard's idea is that if you're dying, you shouldn't be there.
By their model, you farm up gear in an easy Act until the next Act becomes easy and then you farm up gear in that Act until the next Act becomes easy, etc etc. Who wants to play a game that's always easy?

The biggest issue with DH was the only way to build was glass cannon, and now you can't really do that anymore, so people who spent millions of gold building they way they were supposed to are now stuck with a ton of gear that needs to be replaced. With the nerfs to mob damage, playing DH isn't worth it over a melee unless you do replace all that gear.

True. But it's not like the change was a surprise. Even if you didn't see it coming (honestly, who WOULDN'T expect early nerfs to things people abuse in a new Blizz game?), they gave THREE WEEKS advance notice.

eh... i still find DH to be perfectly fine. Running 30k hp so I can take 2 hits from just about any mob that is going to be gay and hit me, and I still have plenty of dps to kill shit. My dps is low as shit compared to most DH's as well. I don't understand the complaining, especially from ppl who have 150k+ ss dps (sup 80k ss dps NP).
Having played all the classes now, gotta say WD is by far the shittiest class. Haven't gotten quite to 60, but I have all the talents for the typical 60 build, and it blows dick in comparison to every other class. Cheat death and chicken are the only things I really like about the class. Shit is too clunky to properly stutter step kite like DH and wiz, and you can't chain slow for easy kiting like DH / Wiz.

I've run out of patience to farm now, though, at least on my DH. The first 2/3 packs I got since 1.0.3 were fast and invulnerable minions. I've only been on to check my auctions really. It's just doesn't seem the hassle to even farm anything outside of all of act 1 or A2 goblin. A3/4 just have too much shit that can gay you for a nice 5k gold a death.

Has anyone noticed the growing spread between useful and useless items on the AH? It seems like there's only super good stuff for 50+ million gold and bullshit crap at like 10k. Like, the middle ground stuff has all tanked and the really really good stuff has exploded in price.
The gear I have now is probably worth 500 million or more (god knows if stuff is selling at the prices people post for tho) even though I paid maybe 1/100th of that to get it two weeks ago. And I can't fucking upgrade because the 2 mill I have manged to save up won't buy shit.
