Re: D3 - CAN - 06-27-2012 http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/131615-diablo-3-the-blizzard-sweatshop so glad i'm not the only one thinking blizzard will do this Code: Finally, just to tip you over the edge, think about this: What if Blizzard itself started selling gold and items on the RMAH? The FAQ states that “at this time” Blizzard doesn’t do this — but in the future, who knows? The Diablo 3 auction house is anonymous — the seller is never listed — and so Blizzard could easily sell gold and items without anyone noticing. What if Blizzard decided to sell special items on the RMAH? Uber-fans of games and franchises will pay almost anything for unique or exclusive items.Re: D3 - Firecrest - 06-27-2012 CAN Wrote:we must be looking at different auction houses. besides insane shit like 1200 dps onehanders stuff isnt that expensiveI'm at the point where my upgrades are super specific. For example, I have a 120 Dex, 50 Resist, 40 Secondary Resist Bracer (pulling number values out of my head, so may not be exact). So what I need is a 120+ Dex, 50+ Resist, 40+ Secondary Resist Bracer WITH 100+ Vit. So I put in the first three parameters and then scroll through looking for one with Vit. Almost all my gear is this way. I have 3-4 of the stats I want already at high values and want that last favorable stat line. Most of the time I don't bother with a Max Buyout because my searches return only a few pages of items and I want to see what the values of the things I want are. It's actually a fairly logical step since it's basically an in game Blizzard Store. I would be surprised if they sold anything that wasn't purely cosmetic though. And I would be REALLY REALLY surprised if they started putting in game items up on the RMAH without telling anyone. As a publically traded company, that seems pretty libelous. I could see a case where they started putting items up on the Gold AH. That actually might be a neat fix to the current problems. It would get gold out of the economy AND drive down prices. Haters would have a field day though. It wont happen over night, but gear in the game isnt soulbound and people typically dont go around sharding amazing gear when they can make money/gold on it. After a while when even more powerful gear is found, the decent gear now will be much cheaper. That's a valid point I hadn't considered. Additionally, the "average" part of the player curve is just now getting into the hard parts of Inferno and looking to gear for it - causing an increase in demand. Maybe it just needs time. Re: D3 - Thorran - 06-27-2012 I'd venture to say the average player has about 1 mil gold and rarely uses the AH. If anything they are all going to give up when they get to a2 inferno. If they sold items on the gold auction house, they would either have to list an absurd amount of auctions or have the auctions at absurd prices. Either way they arent going to fix the economy by trading in it. Either way they arent going to fix the economy by trading in it.If they sold a high amount of high level items at reasonable prices on the Gold AH, it would solve two problems: It would drive down prices on gear as sellers lowered prices to compensate and it would remove a ton of gold from the economy as the effect would be the same as Blizz charging a 100% AH Fee. These are the two major problems they're facing right now. It would definitely cause some problems as well though. So I don't see this as being a likely choice for Blizzard to make. Mostly I was just musing. |
