I swear you guys overthink loot. I didn't even look beforehand at the Ulduar or TotC loot tables because I didn't care. When something dropped I looked at it and if it was an upgrade I rolled. And it seems like I got plenty of gear plenty fast. I'd try this new gamebreaking formula for deciding if you should roll for loot:

Situation #1: Item is an upgrade - /roll
Situation #2: Item isn't an upgrade - don't /roll

Thats the whole situation people not rolling on upgrades and letting them go to shards, hence "dkp whoring"

so what you are saying is "roll away on loot because your class doesnt receive a giant boost from trinkets/weapons"
