Driver Issues with my headset? - Pyro - 08-31-2009 Furly told me someone here might know how to fix this. I bought a logitech headset about 7 months ago and they worked fine on my old computer. Now that I have my new computer on vista 64 ultimate I plug in the usb and nothing happens. Any idea why vista isn't recognizing the headset? I hope I dont need the exact model of the headset, I threw the box away months ago and I dont see any info on the actual headset. Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - Lorake - 08-31-2009 It's probably issues with Vista + your motherboard. Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - Loralise - 08-31-2009 Is that USB port recognizing other input devices... mouse, keyboard? Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - Pyro - 08-31-2009 it recognized my external hard drive, and my printer. :? Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - lawlerbation the hardcore squatter - 08-31-2009 need more info a link of your headphones service pack for vista sound driver obvious course of action is to make sure these are all up-to-date and then if you still have problems google it or ask aragon Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - Firecrest - 08-31-2009 My Logitech headset did the same thing when I got a new comp w/ Vista. It's the only complaint I've had with the OS to date. I found that plugging it in to the sound ports directly instead of going through the USB worked. Assuming you have a model that has a USB adapter on the end and didn't just come that way, give it a try. Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - Crazy Diana - 09-01-2009 hey morons it probably has to do with the fact that its 7 months old Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - abecx - 09-01-2009 I've had the same mic since I was in devils advocate which if you guys know the Abecpedia that was before AoTR, Guardians of the Faith, and even Discipline/Seven Sins. I dont think 7 month old hardware is that bad. Re: Driver Issues with my headset? - Pyro - 09-01-2009 need more info a link of your headphones - Said this already. Let me know if you know how to identify them. service pack for vista - Vista 64 Ultimate SP1 (all updates installed) sound driver - ATI Function Driver for High Definition Audio - ATI AA01 & SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio (I have a mobo integrated sound card, nothing dedicated.) obvious course of action is to make sure these are all up-to-date - vista says they both are the most up to date I can get. and then if you still have problems google it or ask aragon - k thanks anyways. Do you know what they are called? I dont either, its really weird that this isnt working as usb 2.0 is an incredibly common external device platform. Edit: I figured it out. Vista is so retarded sometimes; you have to manually enable the device switch from speakers to microphone headset. You do this by setting a "default device" in the sound extensions panel. Simply right click sounds then click "sounds" and go the the playback or recording tabs. dumb people are dumb. |
