Park51, originally named Cordoba House and sometimes referred to as the "Ground Zero mosque", is a planned $100 million, 13-story, glass and steel Islamic community center, which will include a mosque or prayer space, a 500-seat auditorium, and a swimming pool. The facility intends to provide space for Friday prayers for 1,000–2,000 Muslims. The proposed Cordoba House would replace an existing 1850s Italianate building that was damaged in the September 11 attacks, located two blocks (about 600 feet, or 180 meters) from Ground Zero in New York City.
Apparently, the Family Values Party is not concerned with the strip clubs (like New York Dolls) that surround hallowed ground (after all, we all know that Hooters is a family restaurant and Fox News is not conservative day time porn), because nothing says Christian Values and Apple Pie like a strip club.
Yes, we will fight for our rights to strip but you can take your religious freedom, the very thing this country was founded on, and shove it! Hey, if you don’t like strip clubs, we have the Ground Zero Trashy Lingerie store. Or if you’re really feeling crummy about your inability to stir up religious hate, you can wander over to the Pussycat Lounge, described as “the place strippers go to die” and just blocks from so called Hallowed Ground, we can call this Ground Zero-Ish Strip Club.

It's kinda funny that that article takes shots at the Republicans though when the whole thing really has nothing to do with them. Harry Reid came out against the mosque and Obama spent three press conferences across two days on the subject without definitively saying one way or the other.
Personally I can see both sides. On the one side, lumping all Muslims into the "OMGWTFTERRORISTGTFO" group is absolutely retarded and religious freedom is a large part of what America is about. On the other hand, some part of a religious outreach program should look at the division it's causing the community it's purporting to help and just step back and say, "Hey, we don't really get why you guys are freaking out about this, but it's clearly an issue for you so we're just going to move our shit a few miles away. Be cool." If your stated goal is to strengthen the community, but your plan to do that ends up doing more ham than good, you back off. A “community center” that pisses off half the community can’t really call itself that.
Then again, they could always take the stance that it's an "Islamic Community Center" and not an "Everyone Community Center". Such is definitely within their right, plenty of religions and other groups do that. However, I think the community divide at this point is too large for that to come off as anything but completely obnoxious.

I don’t really get what her deal is. Is she gunning for a presidential bid? It seems to me like she’s doing it all wrong if she is. Right now all that can really be said about her is that she’s running around trying to be as popular as possible. And for some reason it seems to be working. I don’t understand how she can work up the support she’s gotten. The stupid shit she says aside, the woman left her post to go on a nationwide popularity tour. Screw her policy views and screw her idiocy, that fact alone should have people really really pissed off.
