right now we have to move as soon as the vile spirits spawn, and we lose a lot of dps on the raging

this is how it should be. tank and healer move to africa to spawn vile spirits there. dps stay and tunnel the raging without moving at all

the same thing applies to p2 as it does to p3. we should be moving just inside the edge and tunneling the raging dead before moving in and stacking for valk. note that, right now the raging is already dead before the first valks come down. but if you tank the raging right off the edge instead of moving it to the middle, you (a) are less likely to cone someone from moving it around, (b) kill it faster.

There's not really any reason to do this so long as the Raging dies before Valks (which it does consistantly right now). And you forget the fact that we have problems getting people into a good stack when they have 10 seconds to do so. Your plan here would require everyone to properly stack right as Valks are coming down, which just seems like a clusterfuck to me.

Your other point regarding Vile Spirits makes sense though. If we see P3 again before the Expansion, we should do it that way.

that brings up another point that i tried to raise but got lost in the other drama thread. i know abec says that you should fix the player not the strat, but the strat should be giving us as much margin of error to work with as possible. so stop worrying so much about distance to the spot and worry more about the angle of the dangle

right now we are trying to place the boss centerish and trying to get people to stack as close to center as possible for max distance. but if you have the slightest mis-stack, you get a huge valk angle and people fly off all over the place.

if you copy and paste the same stack 5 yards further from the center, you just cut your valk angle 2/3. and really, it's not the distance to the edge that fucks us up. it's the angle that determines whether we can aoe the valks well or not.

note also that i now placed boss and tank ahead of the valks instead of behind as in the first pic. right now, everyone also has to turn around from boss to valk, and the boss is always lagging behind casting/swinging at shit while you're trying to drag him with the valks. if you put the boss and tank ahead of the valks there's less turning around for everyone and the boss is in aoe range more often.

another reason to drift a bit off to the side instead of trying to get as close to center as possible is for defiles. if you drop defiles more to one side, you have more room on the other side to work with. if you drop defiles straight at the n/s line and it's not far enough (say, the second valk/defile where you only have 2s to work with), it makes it hard to get a safe area for stack/valks

I like both these strats plare, we have both our tanks in the stun rotation so really no need to not do it this way. Granted it could be seen as giving the adds less room to fly but they are always grpd up even if raid is off just a bit. You are corect too about raid haveing to turn and dps as well i think all in all this is the way to go for max dps.
