The Weirdness that is my computer - Lorake - 09-02-2011
So on the topic of 'the fuck is going on here':
So my computer's having problems. It'll occasionally freeze. The fix? SHAKE IT. We're talking a desktop tower, and the solution to the problem of it freezing is shaking it. I suspect it's probably the hard drive C: is located on is going bad. Anyone else ever encounter weird shit like this?
Or anyone think they know the answer?

If hitting or moving your desktop is fixing the freezing, then the hdd with windows on it is dying. It's probably a header going bad. Go buy another hdd and transfer your important data before it stops reading completely.

Already bought a new HD. Thought that was the reason, so I went ahead. Couldn't think of any other CPU part that would even restart/resume if you shake it.

is everything nailed down or are things actually bouncing around in there when you shake it

Everything's screwed in or locked in place. Except the tower itself obviously.

... nah your right mini. Lorake didnt notice that when he was violently shaking his tower he was accidentally jiggling the power cord.
The real question is how did he come to find out that shaking his fucking DESKTOP TOWER would fix it?
