HM Rag Alternatives - Firecrest - 09-28-2011
This came up after raid and quite a few people seemed to be interested in focusing our efforts right now on something besides Rag. I figured I’d throw this up so that we could see what people want to do and go from there.
A few options include:
- HM Rag as planned.
- HM Nef, Al'akir, Sinestra, Cho’gal, Council.
- Drakes (4.1 and/or 4.2)
- Some combination of the above.

The other stuff, someone needs to schedule and be a leader on it and I'll go. I just suck at building raid groups and keeping people informed. We have ample off days and I want to tank shit.

I also feel H rag is going to be H LK all over again.
One of the biggest problems of H LK was that you went from easy encounters in 11/12 to insanely hard in H LK without any ground in between for real "progression"
Right now with FL nerfed and T11 still hard we have a nice path of progression between 6/7 and Rag
Im sure we can get chogall and nefarian down easily with our gear now (Though im sure we will have Nef wipes due to interrupts as usual, thankfully that phase will be much shorter). I bet Alakir will stil be a bitch, same as council in BoT.
Now Sinestra.... Gear gives us some leeway but orbs will be hard to learn, however Sinestra does have loot a lot of the raid can still use and its WORTH investing our time on it.
No "lets see who shows for it bullshit" since we rarely get 10 capable ppl taht give a fuck (ahem.. Abe) we should go today, fuck up BoT and start working on her. The fact is it has difficulty in the middle of what we have killed and H Rag, and it can improve coordination on some aspects that wil eventually make learning H Rag a little easier.
I don't give a shit how "old" this content you think it is, the fact is taht it is still ahrder than anything we have killed and easier than H Rag. THAT is progression

I was able to observe some of the raid last night, well done lads. IMHO you guys should have a little fun before diving into H Rag (drakes, "old" (but still hard/badass as Jorge pointed out) content, etc.) or you might have another H LK style burnout.

I think it would be fun to get drakes. We're especially close to the FL ones (which are the coolest looking anyhow). Really the only stumbling block there is the Alysrazor achievement. And even then, most of the achievement is easy. Really it's just the tornados that will be an issue. It may be that we have to break into a couple 10 mans one week to get that done, but I think it would be worthwhile.
I also would like to see us clear 4.1 and think Talith has a valid point about how the dificulty level of it will fall between what we've done so far and HM Rag.
I am very worried about LK burnout, though I freely admit that the horrific experience that we had there may be making me paranoid.

In my opinion...
Nef > Chogal > Sinestra > Al'akir > Council this week (obviously as much as we can, since I assume Nef and Chogal will go down quick and Sinestra will probably take some time).
Then next week we do all the remaining achievements short of Tornados on Alys and work some more on Sinestra.
Then the week after, we do FL in two 10 man groups to finish of the Alys achieve and work some more on Sinestra and then move on to Al'akir and Council until they're all dead.
And THEN go fo HM Nef.
