Firecrest Wrote:You have to hand it to them for the whole annual pass thing though. That was very shrewd. Kept subscription numbers up through the lull, gave them great press for the D3 release and lasted just long enough to make it so people were still in it when pandas came. It worked out really really well for them. Its gonna hurt them real bad when they lose at least 500k from it though, on top of whatever else they lose.

it makes me so happy to see many people start complaining about the awful rep system once they hit 90

New World of Warcraft® expansion sells 2.7 million copies in first week -- global subscriber base passes 10 million
PARIS, France -- October 4, 2012 -- Following the September 25 global rollout of World of Warcraft®: Mists of Pandaria™, the new expansion to the world’s #1 subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that millions of players have already joined the fight for Pandaria. During the first week of launch, prior to the release in China on October 2, the expansion had already sold through approximately 2.7 million copies and the game’s global player base passed 10 million subscribers, with growth across all major regions.*
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems fucking horrible.

The Burning Crusade - 2.4M First Day, 3.5M First Month
Wrath of the Lich King - 2.8M First Day, 4M First Month
Cataclysm - 3.3M First Day, 4.7M First Month
so yeah, quite the disappointment if thats the result after a week

And TBC only had what, like 5m subscribers at launch? Kinda sad to go from half your base buying your expansion on the first day to only a quarter of it buying in the first week.

alyse u sure bitch a lot about this to not care for it
also most of the ppl replaying to u here are playing it
Re: So who's gonna be fucking pandas? - Firecrest - 10-05-2012
I find the status of a game that I dumped hundreds of days of play time into over the course of like seven years to be interesting. Sue me.
I'm glad people here are playing it. More feedback for me to decide whether to drop the $60 on it or not. Not gonna lie though, a part of me really hopes that this "Catering to Casuals and Carebears" thing blows up in Blizzard's face enough that the next one or two expansions are actually good before they pull the plug on WoW and make us all play Titan.
Re: So who's gonna be fucking pandas? - CAN - 10-05-2012
i wouldn't say the current game is catered to casuals/carebears. if anything its probably closer to bc style of playing than it has been the last few expansions

Really? I would love that. Maybe I should give it a try then.
