Anyone here work in Music Marketing?
#1
I need some good tips on starting up.

I have some solid ideas for facebook virality (getting different aspects of facebook used into relation to me such as checking into event or shows, having people post photos from show and tagging, status and board updates with interactive media, etc)
I have a clothing sponsor lined up for merch
Also a friend who is a graphic design artist for logos and shit
A photographer
And a small street team of peons to push my brand.

Is their anything else that I may be missing or can improve upon (i.e. cool ass industry tricks)?

Good music markets itself.

But getting it to the ears of as many people as possible is what your asking, if it's a live band then you need lots of gigs! I'd submit it to music blogs galore, include it in 'pay what you want' bundles like the Indie Gala for example, add samples to cloud services such as Amazon, and of course abuse social media to all extent.

Good music is a given!
The stuff on my channel is a little bit older but not that terrible.
I'm doing most of the learning about mastering and audio mixing on my own so it's been a big learning process for me.
But yah it is something I enjoy a ton and want to share with people

My music on youtube

And yah Jack I was thinking about the pay "what you want" thing.
I was looking at Bandcamp, I'll also check out Indie Gala.
