So Im considering throwing down a months subscription for a mumble server.
Have we come to any decisions yet? Sticking with the old dog or trying something new?

What's the price comparison between Mumble and Vent? Are they roughly similar?
My only concern with the Mumble option would be the difficulty in getting people to switch. Getting main raiders to make the move should be easy and, assuming the software isn't too unfriendly, shouldn't provide too much of a problem on the technical side.
However, getting anyone who's not a main raider will likely be a whole different matter. We're not a guild that organizes server premade BGs or anything like that, but this could pose a problem for the PUG runs. Also, if ever you needed to get a bunch of random people from say a LFG Dungeon or something together where you could talk, there's no way in hell you'd be able to get them on anything not Vent.
The no Vent lag thing seems nice but getting your average random player onto Mumble will be next to impossible. If that's okay with us, then let's go for it. Assuming comparable pricing, it seems that the decision comes down to universality vs. no lag. Honestly, neither are particularly big deals to me so I'm inclined to stay where we're at instead of shaking things up without cause. But really, meh, whatever.

Well the host Crazy suggested charges 0.18 per slot/month. I was thinking about buying a 100 slot sub for a month and see if we like it. I know it will probably be like pulling teeth to get randoms to use it, but randoms can suck a dick. If the guild would like to make the change Id be happy to get the ball rolling. Just dont want to shell out the money if people would rather stick with ventrilo.

Make the swap to Mumble, imo. It is far superior!
