Oh most excellent, now you get to teach me how to dps effectively as a spriest, because Whoforted is JUST FUCKING TERRIBLE. I get that dot timing is important... I get that having stacks of shadow weaving before sw:p is important... but I feel as if Im missing something. Sub-2k dps does not feel right, even though I am wearing such terrible gear.

Oh and for the record, if you send me off to some EJ math thread that looks remotely like this:

Quote:[Shadow]

\frac{DPET(nuke)\cdot ET(nuke) + DPET(filler)\cdot (CD(nuke)-ET(nuke))}{CD(nuke)}.

But I'd like to look at it in another way. By casting the nuke we made a choice. We also could have cast the filler, but by replacing it with the nuke, we deal more damage. We gain damage from using the nuke over not using the nuke, but we can only do it once for ET(nuke) every CD(nuke). Our average DPS is

DPET(filler) + \frac{DPET(nuke)\cdot ET(nuke) - DPET(filler)\cdot ET(nuke)}{CD(nuke)} = DPET(filler) + \frac{DPE(nuke) - DPET(filler) \cdot ET(nuke)}{CD(nuke)}.

This motivates the definition of the effective damage per cooldown of our nuke,

eDPCD(nuke) := \frac{DPE(nuke) - DPET(filler)\cdot ET(nuke)}{CD(nuke)}.

Here's a DPS diagram for MB+MF to illustrate both points of view. Yellow means nuke, grey means filler. Note that the yellow shapes have the same area.

I'll send Crazyd to your house with the most painful castration tool I can think of. A spoon maybe... or perhaps a popsicle stick.
