Actually we are decades behind, hell only three countries don't use the metric system, however our hospitals, military, NASA, universities, etc. all use the metric system. In other words American public = retarded when it comes to measurements; hopefully arithmetic is required in schools soon since that is about all the math required to realize any non-decimalised system of measurement, especially the imperial system, is ludicrous.
