Can't sit in melee, you'll get us all pounced on.

I assumed Pounce targets anyone outside of X yards. Is it based on spec?

I guess that would make sense, otherwise we would only need to send out the 6 or so people that it takes to make him go cat form.

Yes, the pounce is based on spec, an class that can be range ( healers included ) has to be ranged, only melee classes are allowed to stay melee range.
