So, I'm just about done with A3 Hell on my Monk and, as much as it pains me to say it, I think Lawler was right. I'm not sure why Myndore was having problems. I've put absolutely no extra effort into my resist and dodge beyond what's accidentally shown up on my gear (I think my highest resist is like 40) and I go toe to toe with every elite pack I’ve come across. More than once in this Act, I’ve had to take on two elite packs at once and didn’t even find that to be terribly difficult. Only maybe 1 in 5 come up with really gay abilities and I die once or twice but never more than that. I’ve only skipped one elite pack ever and that was in A4 NM when those whirly faggots showed up with Vampiric and were healing faster than I could DPS them (I do my AH re-gearing at the end of each difficulty, so I was a bit undergeared at that point. That was also before I discovered 1x2Hand > 2x1Hand).
I just basically get the highest DPS 2-Hander I can find with decent Dex and put Dex and Vit on all my gear and go to town. My strat is pretty much "run up and kill shit". No shield and I don't bring that gay Templar dude either (Scoundrel ftw). Occasionally, I have to run out and kite for a few seconds until pot or heal comes off CD, but never more than once or twice a fight and only during elite mobs. I’ve not had a single issue with trash ever.
Basically, the only difference between Normal and Hell at this point is that I have to pot and heal. I haven't even changed most of my runes since Normal/Nightmare. Little of the new stuff seems better than the old.
