Dunno where you're from but in Iowa this couldn't be further from the truth. I have fired many a scrub and unless they have done something completely off the wall they always get unemployment, no matter how hard you fight it.

Must be a state by state thing. Here, I've actually fired a person and then disputed their Unemployment Claim. When we showed that we fired them for incompetence, they were denied. Actually had to go in front of a judge and everything.

I've done this twice and been successful both times.
