I think a fifth option should be "Skip HardModes that we are stuck on but have completed before, bang our heads on HardModes we've never done."
There's no excuse not to try a HardMode we know we can do. But if we spend an hour on it and haven't made serious progress, it's just standing in the way of us completing the other things we haven't done. Judging by the poll results so far, people clearly want to continue to push for Algalon, but do they want to keep kicking at the stuff we've already done?
As an aside, the fact that we struggle with stuff we've already done says something about the state of the guild. I remember in Sunwell, we'd spend weeks getting a new fight down, but as soon as we killed it once, we never struggled with it again. Clearly a large portion of each raid is having to be retaught these fights. A more stable raid base would do wonders for our progression (much easier said than done , of course). In this regard we may want to look more at new recruits reliability than just their skill. A constant raider may be better than a good one.
