LF Job
#1
So I got laid off.

I'll be locked from my account for 2 days while they mess with my shit.

I have 3 months of severance, so if anyone is in the Austin area anytime soon I'm free to hang out.

Got a half drunk job offer from another previous ex-employee related to banks, dealing with programming or QA.

So I guess I'll see where things go...

Three month's severance is pretty solid. You've only been there for a year and a half or so, right? Not bad at all. And besides that, you'll be eligible for 30 (or 50 or w/e the hell it is now) fucking months of funemployment courtesy of the black man. It's pretty shitty, but it could be a lot worse. Hopefully you don't have much current debt and can float the storm. Good luck. :glomp:

Also getting profit thing from releases. I can make rent from the 3 months, that, and what I have currently, until October or November at the latest. Got a half-drunk job offer from another ex-employee from a while back for a place that works with banks, dealing with databases prog. or C#, if I can get up to speed with that stuff - failing that, they have support and QA stuff.

My lease is up in Aug/Sept ish, so I have time to think. Only debt I have is some on credit, and then Lasik surgery that I got in the winter.

Once I can get into my account again, I suppose I'll be on a bit more now.

I need to check my paperwork and see if I can do that while receiving full sev. pay... though I'm tempted to wait, depending on whether the time limit starts from day of separation or not.
