i really don't think they count as dance genres. my girlfriend is a ballerina. that is a dance genre. it requires skill and co-ordination. Tap dance is a dance genre. Hell, even Hip-hop can be a proper dance genre. that shit is not. a retarded monkey could move in a similar way. fuck.

Dance Genres are the dance styles people have paid money to learn. I used to perform and teach Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, and Ballroom well over 15 years ago for about 6 years (easy money). Jumpstyle and Hardstyle are underground here in America the craze is spreading like wild fire. Much like Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap were considered crazes long before going "maninstream". Mainstream meaning popularity hit general public where everyone wanted to learn and willing to pay top dollar. There are professional Jump and Hard style crews in France, Germany, UK, and Spain that I am aware of, they make good money performing and teaching.
It is not as easy to do when you compare pro's to regular high school kids. My experiences as a dancer/teacher has given me open eyes to all types of dance including Jive, Swing (West/East coast), Country 2step/swing, and much more then I care to admit. I even tried out Modern Dance and Brazilian Caporiera (more martial art then dance but still hell a fun).
What may be perceived as ameteur here in America is total Pro elsewhere in the world.

Karma, that was quite possibly the most homosexual thing ever posted on these forums.
