Sup Shar here. I'm hauling my computer to a PC shop tomorrow to pick up and install my shiny new Nvidia GTX 260 and new fan. They say it should be done in one day assuming I get there early enough. Even so, there is like a 5% chance that something might happen where they need to keep it or I don't get home in time for our new server raid.

Q: Know what they call a doctor that graduated 800th out of 800 in their class?
A: Doctor.

IMO a CPU upgrade is better for overall performance.
Get a GPU if you need to run higher resolutions (1680x1050 and higher) with max details on (Anisotropic filtering, AntiAliasing, full shaders, full shadows).
The GTX 260 is a good card but IDK what CPU/MB/RAM you have and I hope you are not disappointed by the performance increase (I've been there).
