After almost 5 years of perfectly secure, virus-free computing life, my machine has somehow managed to become infected with over a dozen trojans and at least 100 separate and unique spyware/adware/malware programs in a single night. When I turned my computer on yesterday I immediately started noticing the issues but I figured a few quick scans/purges and I'd be back in business. Totally wrong. My computer is royally butt-fucked. I'm sending it in for an overhaul and quite possibly a complete drive purge and a fresh install. I have no idea how long it will take to get back and have everything reinstalled if it comes to that, but hopefully it will be before this next raid reset. I don't feel quite as bad since It's not like you guys need me for M'uru or some shit, but I still want to be part of the Whar Lewts family.

You shoulda just reformatted yourself or had one of us help you out. Quick and easy, done in an hour or so.

Yeah. The only reason to send your computer to a shop in this kind of scenario is if you've got data on there that you cannot access and don't want to lose. Otherwise, copy what you want and start over. Tons faster and cheaper than a repair store.

did you try a windows restore first. it will restore system infrastructure to a previous date (1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month) and a variety of other time frames. is very affective against many viruses/trojans.
