After a MC I normally cast a DnD on the back far side of nef, or at least try to. It was ticking at times for 20k, seemed silly.

I also said something about my lack of MC's, and I see that i got the same amount, and clicked more than Shisty, though he did more dmg, but it kind of sucks that you can't show how many times you got that MC during the phase 1/2 crossover, or in any other spots where it is useless. Or where you clicked 1 too slow or just a second late and killed yourself(which i did twice) negating the MC(obviously). In some of our better attempts, like the first sub 40% one, i believe i got it 3 times, once at the phase 1/2 change, and twice in a row as we were in the process of wiping. There were other fights though where i got it in opportune times and i was 1st - 5th or on the meters as opposed to 14th or 15th. (at least according to recount, which i think is wonky or something since it had off numbers from what others posted in chat/raid/guild). Does the damage report catch everyone in raid during phase 2, could that be the difference i saw?

It is partially RNG based, and partially button mashing skill. And I would love to be in that top 6 or so every fight, but a buff that gives you 200%+ dmg certainly helps.

On the pet thing, I didnt change a thing, just mashed the pet attack on nef after MC's and it seemed to work. I wasn't yelling on vent though, but had others yelling at me. Saying my pet was pushing your shit in after a fight where it does 28k dmg to someone elses pet as its first non boss target seemed wonky to me.
