I know everyone shit all over abec (NO RESPECT) for pushing the move this week.
But imo we need to go well in advance of the next patch.
We are going to lose people in the move and it would be nice to up and ready to raid at patch.
Next week?
Send alt 10 man this week?

agreed, you think your just gonna roll on to a new server and get 1000 apps? you need to go early, and start recruiting. Everyone is going to lock them selves into a guild a month out whos worth recruiting. +1 Ford

In the time I spent on Sargeras (I hung around for about 3 hours asking lots of questions of lots of people), I probably saw 9 different guilds at our progression level spamming /2 for recruits. No sarcasm or exaggeration at all (though, to be fair, some were 10 mans). The response I got from officers in guilds around our level was pretty uniform. "The economy is amazing. Good PUGs are super easy to find. But competition is fierce (gathering professions, quest objectives, etc), instance lag is a problem when new content comes out and our raider turn over rate is fucking absurd."
The problem is that you're either a super hard core guild or you're a feeder guild or you're nobody.
I'm very concerned that we're going to collectively spend a couple thousand dollars to make a move that doesn't help us at all. Or, at best, simply exchanges one set of problems for another.
I would suggest looking for a different type of realm. A medium population server with some solid competition would be good. Some place where there's ~10 decent guilds as opposed to the 30+ on Sargearas.
Myndore, Rage, Thorran or someone else can explain why this is not a really good time to move. I have to get back to work. Basically it comes down to "What does our guild have to offer at a time when we're in a 1 raid day per week holding pattern for new content?"

Maybe I've been out of the game for too long to see that problems that you guys are facing, but I still don't think this move is going to be the answer. I hope I'm proven wrong

I know my opinion holds next to no value given the circumstances, but I'm going to have to give a big +1 to everything Alyse, Kaistine and Sanderz said.

Abe's going to think I'm just trolling; but moving now, soon, and debate-ably pre-expansion is almost surely going to be spending money on this game to pretend to fix the issues we have.
1.) What do we offer to the recruits we think we are magically going to have flocking to us in droves? 6/7 H post-nerf, no Sinestra, Cho, Nef, or Al'Akir which is probably a worse position today than 3/4 & 5/6 was back in BC? The fact that we push some of our best raiders out the door and celebrate? Our website which is great for trolling and laughs but shows nothing about being serious?
2.) We really don't do any recruiting now, spending a few thousand dollars fixes this how? The BS of you can't recruit on this server is moot to me A.) because people have come here from other servers after the free transfers were gone and B.) the lack of effort to even try gives this argument no solid frustration
3.) Even if we do get new recruits, the honest truth is we will gear them and feed them into stronger guilds on a better realm. Why? To begin with most of the recruits we get now, even if they're good, we sit to continue bringing the people who have proven they going missing when they please.
Don't get me wrong we have issues. But the issues we have are all shit that needs to get sorted out before people are shelling out money to fix an issue that has nothing do with the server we're located on. I can tell you right now, if a lot of shit isn't fixed pre-move you're asking people to spend money for WLPH to become a 10m guild
