I've not seen any claims of bannings. Hard to ban someone for just playing their class. And it's not hard to claim ignorance. With just the Blizzard UI, you'd never be able to even figure out what was happening. From what I've read, it only hapens on instance servers. So you'd see bosses dying like wo, but unless an entire raid sent each one of their raiders up to the boss individually, you'd never know who it was since you can't test dummy it out.

Things will go badly, I think, if they try to ban everyone who played a Ret Pally during a 24 hour period. It's not impossible, but I think it's highly unlikely they will issue any bannings. It's just too hard to seperate intentional from unintentional useage. Perhaps the Ret-Ret-Ret PvP teams that clearly knew what they were doing? And maybe some who used it to down new progression? But what do you do, take back all loot from every kill yesterday that had a Ret Pally? It was Tuesday. You're easily talking about millions of items.

I dunno. It will be interesting to see how they respond to this.

Yeah. Because your average player could totally tell that his Seal is hitting more often in the POS combat log provided by Blizzard. It's definately possible. But most of the WoW population ain't that smart.

Ha. I stand corrected. I've found a few people reporting 24 hour bans. I wonder how widespread they will be?

Care to explain this? Some exploit? Why would people get banned instead of just a hotfix

My understanding is that Ret Seals were proc'ing at a greatly exagerated rate, letting Rets DS down mamoth packs of trash in one shot and kill bosses in seconds... To say nothing of globaling players in PvP.

It started with yesterday's downtime and was just fixed a few hours ago.

It is a bug and it looks like people are getting banned for exploiting it. They're gonna have a lot of work on their hands if they try to get everyone for everything though. They'll have to do everything from ungranting levels for people who were leveling Ret to taking away the gold they got from the trash they killed. Not to mention the ungranting of loot and achievements of non-Ret players who were grouped with Rets. If they try to extend that part to LFR and LFG, people will be pissed.

Why would they ungrant levels, you already one shot mobs.

Purposefully defeating mobs to get loot using said mechanic = 24 hour ban imo, if this was SWTOR it would be 4 year ban.
