The biggest difference that I see in their Phase One compared to ours is that they only have 1-2 adds up at a time. Ever.
Why are our adds going down so slow?
They also seem to be spreading out midway between the boss and the door. For our attempts we tanked the adds near the outside of the room and then brought them in for the kill. It seems like we should be minimizing some of the distance between where we tank the add and where Abe brings it to die.

Crusher Tentacle: Melees hard, has a ton of HP and has an aura that reduces damage done by the raid by 20%, stacks with other crusher tentacles so these must go down fast. Melee-ing these will interrupt their aura but they gain a temporary buff that increases their damage and attack speed when they are hit so this is dangerous if they are being DPS'd.
Corruptor Tentacle: Casts various debuffs, Curse of Doom, Apathy, Draining Poison and Black Plague. Dispellers will need to be on the ball. These are interruptable.
Constrictor Tentacle: These have very little HP and appear underneath random players, grab them and hoist them into the air doing damage every few seconds until killed.

Alyse-
Dps was low because of the bad positioning you mentioned. Unless casters are expected to spec into range, we have to move a lot to dps the adds near the boss and the adds on Ethax.
If we only DPS the adds near the boss, the ones near ethax are too slow. If we move back and forth, theres a chance that the one near the boss will die slowly. The clouds cause this.
A Ranged Priorities are:
1. Avoid Clouds
2. Killing Blows Near Boss
3. DPS spawning adds
We can easily accomplish all 3 of these things if we have the raid follow Ethax, or whoever the add tank is. It will make avoiding clouds harder, but still ridiculously easy.
Also if we do it that way, we can see who fucks up because they will be separated from the raid group. There will be less confusion as to who is messing up because we will be able to see and correct whatever problems we face.
TLDR Version: If we continue tanking the adds near the door, we need to get ready for a sloppy start to P2 or a night of P1.
