Computer rape 05/03
#1
So apparently sometime between when I logged on this afternoon and when I got off work my little brother (Scorcher) used my computer to find cheats for some of his Playstation games. I don't keep my IE updated and for some reason he used IE instead of Firefox. He downloaded some nasty viruses, trojans, worms, etc. that took over admin to my PC, rewrote boot sectors, disabled safe mode and my anti-virus, BSOD anytime I attempted to run a malicious software removal program, and a bunch of other fun shit.

I'm having a difficult time getting my PC repaired currently and am frustrated as hell to miss such an important raid. I finally overrode AVG's administration lock and re-enabled safe mode. AVG has found well over a hundred active threats mostly all in the IE temporary folder, and it automatically scans my entire computer every day when I'm sleeping and comes up with none to a couple threats ever. I have very little security on my PC because I'm cautious of what I access, but I guess having a little brother using an out dated browser with no security is a recipe for disaster.

Appears mostly to be ConfickerB, generic downloaders, and SHeur trojans if anybody is familiar with those.

Anyhow, sorry I'm missing raid hope to be back online soon.

Quote:Conficker

push over virus

if you have multiple hard drives your probably better off reinstalling windows

copy your entire wow folder over to your other drive and then download all your motherboard and what have you drivers onto your other drive and then reinstall windows

viruses are a pain in the ass to actually get rid of by hand and using a program they usually cancel specific services the virus infected and impair the use of programs

I found a pirnter spool of like 20 pages of cheats for Playstation games and tons of pop ups from IE that I never use when I got back from work.

I still have no administration access outside of safe mode. It's a newer variant of Conficker since none of the malware protection I have works and says there is no Conficker. I got rid of a ton of shit but I still have limited access and weird shit like a windows activation demanding my Windows XP key and active desktop spamming spyware advertisements. So still working on it, and Lawler I actually have backed up all my important shit and all WoW patches and WTF folder on my other hard drive, it's just a pain in the ass to reformat. :|
